COSAFA Cup to be staged at 2010 FIFA World Cup stadium in Free State

JOHANNESBURG - The COSAFA Cup 2025, scheduled for June 4-15 in Mangaung, promises to be a nail-biting event for football fans. The competition will be staged in Mangaung for the first time, with the Free State Stadium, a venue for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium to host matches. A draw on Wednesday put South Africa in Group A with last year's bronze medallists, Mozambique, Mauritius and Zimbabwe. South Africa last won a COSAFA Cup in 2021, while six-time winners Zimbabwe have not held the silverware aloft since 2018. The top team in each pool advances to the semifinals, with the winner of Group A to face the top side in Group D, and the leading team in Group B up against the top team in Group C. Defending champions Angola are in Group B with Namibia, having played each other twice in the 2024 edition. Their pool stage game ended 0-0, but Angola won 5-0 in the final. Malawi and Lesotho are also in their group this year. 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalist Morocco will be making their debut in this competition. The North African team are in the three-team Group C with Madagascar and Eswatini. And Group D has seven-time winners Zambia, Comoros and Botswana. The competition will be a tune-up for teams before they resume their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaigns in September. Matches will be broadcast on SABC and SuperSport, and streamed live on FIFA+ . GUBBIO v MILAN FUTURO: MATCH PREVIEW

GUBBIO v MILAN FUTURO: MATCH PREVIEW No rest on Easter Monday for Milan Futuro, who are ready to play on Matchday 37 (out of 38) in Serie C. The boys will be travelling to Umbria to face Gubbio on Monday 21 April at 15:00 CEST, during a positive spell at the end of the season that has begun to show what we are really capable of. Advertisement LATEST FROM MILAN FUTURO Oddo's Rossoneri are in their best form of the year, right at the end of a very tiring season. Three wins in a row for the first time this campaign, and it comes at a crucial time, boosting our hopes and energy. From 3-2 against Campobasso, to 2-1 against Sestri Levante, to 1-0 against Ternana: nine points that make a huge difference, and that are hugely deserved for top performances and for the hard work shown over months without much reward. We are still in a tough position in the table, in 17th place on 33 points, so our final two games against Gubbio and Vis Pesaro are huge in reaching our goal. Both Quirini and Magni are suspended. LATEST FROM GUBBIO Fontana's squad are in eleventh place, just behind Pontedera who are ahead on goal difference. It is a key detail because, if it stayed like today, the Lupi would not go into the play-offs, even though they're fully on course for them. It will be a home game and they'll have the support of their fans, and although they score less at home than away, it will hugely boost them to give their all and to push for that win. Their recent form hasn't been great: last weekend they lost to Pescara (0-2) after a draw against Ascoli (0-0). Normally, Gubbio play a 4-3-3, and the striker Tommasini (on eight goals) is their biggest threat. WHERE TO WATCH MILAN FUTURO ON TV In Italy, the game will be exclusively live on TV on Sky Sport e NOW, while worldwide there will be the free streaming on FIFA+. Don't miss our coverage on Instagram, AC Milan Official App - where in the days after the match, the entire match will be available on demand (also on Advertisement LATEST FROM SERIE C The referee will Francesco Zago, from Conegliano. He will have assistants Capriuolo and Andriambelo, with fourth official, Castelli. Matchday 36 (Group B) will be played throughout the day on Monday 21 April, at 15:00 CEST, all at the same time: the other games will be Arezzo v Lucchese, Campobasso v Perugia, Legnago Salus v Pescara, Pineto v Virtus Entella, Pontedera v Rimini, Sestri Levante v Ascoli, Ternana v Pianese, Torres v Carpi Vis and Pesaro v SPAL. The table: Virtus Entella 81; Ternana (-2) 70; Torres 65; Pescara 61; Arezzo 58; Vis Pesaro 56; Pineto 55; Pianese 53; Rimini (-2) 50; Pontedera e Gubbio 45; Carpi e Perugia 44; Campobasso 40; Ascoli 39; Lucchese (-6) 36; MILAN FUTURO 33; SPAL (-3) 31; Sestri Levante 27; Legnago Salus 26. FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Seychelles 2025 draw to take place in Victoria on Friday

Africa's three representatives at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Seychelles 2025 will discover their path to the trophy when the draw is made for the group stages of the historic tournament in Victoria on Friday. The draw will be conducted at 15:00 GMT (17h00 Cairo time) and will be LIVE on FIFA+. It is the first time that the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will be staged on African sand, and along with hosts Seychelles, Senegal and Mauritania will be flying the continent's flag at the 1-11 May finals. The trio form part of a 16-team field that also includes defending champions and six-time winners Brazil, the runners-up from the last edition Italy, and bronze medallists from a year ago, Iran. The other qualifiers are Belarus, Chile, El Salvador, Guatemala, Japan, Oman, Paraguay, Portugal, Spain and Tahiti. The teams will be drawn into four groups. The top two from each of the pools will advance to the knockout phase, in which quarter-finals, semi-finals, a third-place play-off and final will ensue. Hosts Seychelles will take up position A1 as they make their debut at the global finals. Mauritania are also making their first appearance having qualified by finishing second at the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations 2024 in Egypt last October. Mauritania were beaten in the final by Senegal, who claimed a record-extending eighth African title and will be making a 10th appearance at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Senegal's best finish at the global event was in 2021 when they ended in fourth place. Other countries making their debut are Guatemala and Chile, while at the other end of the spectrum, Brazil and Japan will make record 13th appearances. Portugal are the only other former winners in the field after they claimed the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup title in 2015 and 2019. The global tournament was first played in 2005. Russia (2011, 2013 and 2021) and France (2005) are the other nations to have lifted the trophy. Among this year's field, Italy (three times), Tahiti (2), Japan (1) and Spain (1) have made the final in the past, but have yet to lift the trophy.
