HERO MOTOSPORTS TEAM RALLY WELCOMES TOBIAS EBSTER TO ITS RIDER LINE-UP EBSTER'S REMARKABLE JOURNEY TO ELEVATE THE TEAM'S AMBITIONS AT WORLD RALLY STAGE
Hero MotoSports Team Rally, the motorsport team of the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters — Hero MotoCorp – has added promising young talent Tobias Ebster to its international rider line-up, following a highly successful 2024 season. Tobias Ebster, 27, from Zillertal, Austria, is widely recognized as one of rally racing's most promising rising stars. He entered his first rally just four years ago — the Hellas Rally Raid — after establishing a solid background in motocross and enduro. His breakthrough came in 2022, when he won the prestigious FIM Bajas World Cup in Dubai. He continued to impress by securing victory in the Rally 2 category at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, outperforming a field of seasoned competitors. A trained mechanical engineering technician, Tobias has taken on a range of freelance jobs — including landscaper, taxi driver, plumber, pizza delivery rider, and carpenter — to maintain a flexible schedule that supports his intense training and racing commitments. In his debut Dakar Rally last year — Tobias delivered a remarkable performance. Displaying exceptional grit and endurance, he claimed victory in the grueling "Original by Motul" category without any assistance and finished an impressive 20th overall, earning the coveted title of Best Rookie. His determination and talent also secured him a Dakar entry through the 'Road to Dakar' program, a dream he pursued and achieved despite significant setbacks. In Dakar 2025, competing once again as a privateer — but this time with assistance — Tobias raised the bar even higher. He finished an astonishing 9th overall, emerging as the top privateer in the field. Tobias is set to make his debut race appearance with Hero MotoSports later this month at the South African Safari Rally. This event, making its first appearance on the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) calendar, serves as the third round of the 2025 season. Tobias will line up alongside teammates Ross Branch and Nacho Cornejo for the rally. Wolfgang Fischer, Team Manager, Hero MotoSports Team Rally, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Tobias Ebster to the Hero MotoSports family! His addition comes at a truly exciting time for us, following our historic World Championship victory led by our star rider Ross Branch. In just over nine years, Hero MotoSports has firmly established itself among the top teams in rally racing, and the arrival of a world-class talent like Tobias – current leader of the Rally2 championship - marks another major milestone in our journey." "Tobias already shares a strong bond with several of our riders, and we are excited to see that camaraderie come alive once again under the Hero MotoSports banner. His impressive will to work upwork his career to where he stands now, and true spirit of sportsmanship perfectly align with our team's values and ambitions. We are confident Tobias will play a significant role in elevating our performance even further this season and beyond. With new energy, renewed determination, and exciting new talent, we look forward to an incredible season ahead!" Tobias Ebster, Rider, Hero MotoSports Team Rally, said: "I'm thrilled and deeply honoured to be joining Hero MotoSports, a team that has been making headlines for all the right reasons. I've followed the team's incredible rise over the past few years and have always admired how quickly they've become a force to reckon with in rally racing. It's an exciting time to join, and I'm fully committed to giving my best and contributing to the team's continued success." "I look forward to racing alongside some of the most talented and promising riders in the sport, many of whom I also consider close friends. I sincerely thank Hero MotoSports for placing their trust in me — it's a true privilege to represent the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters at some of the toughest and most iconic races around the world!" Born into a family deeply rooted in motorsport, Tobias found his passion for two wheels at an early age, receiving his first bike at just four years old. Guided by his uncle Heinz Kinigadner — a two-time Motocross World Champion and rally-raid legend — Tobias developed his skills across motocross and desert racing, laying the foundation for what promises to be an outstanding career in rally-raid. With an already impressive trajectory early in his career, Tobias brings immense talent and resilience to the Hero MotoSports squad.

Hero MotoSports Team Rally, the factory rally team of Hero MotoCorp - the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters - has announced the signing of Austrian rally prodigy Tobias Ebster to its international rider line-up. The 27-year-old joins the team after a standout 2024 season that saw him finish among the elite in the Dakar Rally. Hailing from Zillertal, Austria, Ebster has quickly built a reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in the rally-raid world. A relative newcomer to the sport, he entered his first rally only four years ago - the Hellas Rally Raid - following a strong background in motocross and enduro. He continued to turn heads with a win in the Rally 2 category at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, outperforming more experienced rivals and reinforcing his growing stature in the sport. In 2024, Tobias made his Dakar Rally debut in the fiercely demanding "Original by Motul" category - racing without any team support. He emerged victorious in the class and finished an impressive 20th overall, earning the Best Rookie title. His entry came through the "Road to Dakar" program, underscoring his determination and resilience. The 2025 Dakar Rally saw him return as a privateer with assistance, where he delivered a top-10 finish, placing ninth overall and finishing as the top privateer in the field. Wolfgang Fischer, Team Manager, Hero MotoSports Team Rally, said, "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Tobias Ebster to the Hero MotoSports family! In just over nine years, Hero MotoSports has firmly established itself among the top teams in rally racing, and the arrival of a world-class talent like Tobias - current leader of the Rally2 championship - marks another major milestone in our journey." Despite his rapid rise, Ebster has maintained a grounded approach. A trained mechanical engineering technician, he has held a variety of freelance jobs - from plumber and carpenter to taxi driver and pizza delivery rider - to support his training and racing pursuits. His first competitive outing with Hero MotoSports will take place later this month at the South African Safari Rally, marking the event's debut on the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) calendar as the third round of the 2025 season. He will join teammates Ross Branch and Nacho Cornejo at the event. Born into a motorsport-enthusiast family, Ebster was introduced to two wheels at the age of four. He was mentored by his uncle, rally-raid legend and two-time Motocross World Champion Heinz Kinigadner, who played a key role in nurturing his talent in motocross and desert racing. Ebster's entry into the Hero MotoSports Team Rally is seen as a strategic move to bolster the team's competitiveness while investing in future talent.

Jordan Motorsport announces Jordan Baja to run in mid-April
Competitors in stunning Wadi Rum at the 2024 Jordan Baja (Jordan Motorsport photos) AMMAN — Jordan Motorsport has announced details of the Jordan Baja, the second round of this year's FIA World and Middle East Baja Cups and round three of the FIM Bajas World Cup. The event has switched from a November date and will be based out of the Red Sea city of Aqaba on April 10th-12th. A round of the premier FIA off-road series since 2019 and the FIM championship since 2021, the event runs for three days and utilises terrain with the backdrop of some of the most spectacular desert vistas on the planet. After a short Prologue stage on April 10th to determine the starting order for the opening selective section, competitors will attend the traditional ceremonial start procedure at the Arab Revolt Plaza on the outskirts of southern Aqaba from 17.15hrs. Competitive action then switches to the awe-inspiring Wadi Rum region in southern Jordan for a first stage of 334.13km on April 11th. This will be split into two timed sections of 200.60km and 133.53km. The Hashemite Kingdom's premier off-road event will then use a shorter stage of 185.30km on April 12th before the return to Aqaba for the ceremonial finish, prize giving and post-event press conference at the Arab Revolt Plaza from 17.30hrs. In a total route of 749.30km, 522.43km will be timed against the clock in a challenging route laid on by Jordan Motorsport under Zaid Balqez, the chairman of the Organising Committee, Clerk of the Course Khaled Zakaria and their experienced organising team. George Khoury will act as clerk of the course for the FIM event. 'We are pleased to be holding the Baja earlier in the season, where the weather will be slightly more consistent and competitors are just starting out on their programme of events for 2025,' said Zaid Balqez. 'Southern Jordan offers stunning terrain and a sensational back drop for our regional and international competitors. Many of the visual images from the event have already become iconic in cross-country motorsport and we are sure that this year's Baja will build upon the successes of the last few years.' The 2025 Jordan Baja will be based at the Westin Saraya Aqaba Resort and Spa for the first time. Entries are now open with the closing date set for Wednesday, March 26th. Emirati driver Khalid Al Jafla teamed up with Andrei Rudnitski to claim a maiden victory in Jordan last November and he also secured maximum points in the competitive Challenger category with his Taurus T3 Max. That win in the FIA category followed previous successes for Poland's Jakub Przygonski (Mini) and the Saudi Arabian duo of Yasir Seaidan (Mini) and Saleh Al Saif (Can-Am) in 2019, 2021 and 2022. The UAE's Mohammed Al Balooshi has been the man to beat on two wheels since 2019 and earned a fourth win last November on his KTM 450 Rally on his way to the FIM Bajas World Cup title. Saudi riders have dominated the quad category since its inception in 2021 with Faisal Al Suwayh, Abdulmajeed Al Khulaifi and Abdulaziz Al Shayban claiming a win apiece on their Yamahas.
