Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge key specs revealed in new leak

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has just had some of its key specifications revealed in a new leak from trusted tipster Evan Blass. Shared on X (formerly Twitter), the leak highlights the phone's ultra-slim 5.8mm design, featherlight 163g weight, and top-tier hardware, suggesting that the device will focus heavily on portability without compromising on flagship-grade performance. With its slim profile, high-resolution rear camera, and AI-powered features in One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 Edge appears to focus on delivering a balanced mix of design and performance — a combination not often seen in other flagship devices today. Source: Evan Blass/ X (formerly Twitter) advertisementAccording to Blass, the phone will come with a titanium bezel and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for improved toughness, which should help it survive everyday wear and tear. As per previous leaks, the phone is said to come in three finishes: Titanium Icy Blue, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Silver. Despite its incredibly slim profile, Samsung is apparently equipping the S25 Edge with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip — the same processor found in the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup. Expect to see smooth and snappy performance, a hallmark of high-end Samsung this is the first detailed spec leak we've seen from Evan Blass, previous reports have filled in more of the picture. As per FNNews, the Galaxy S25 Edge is tipped to launch in South Korea on May 13, with sales beginning on May 23 in both South Korea and China. Pre-orders are expected to run from May 14 to 20. A global release — including the US — could happen on May 30, and the device has even been spotted on India's BIS certification website, suggesting it's headed for an Indian launch as Price-wise, the phone is rumoured to fall into the $1,099 to $1,199 range in the US, which converts to approximately Rs 94,000 – Rs 1,02,600. On the front, a 12-megapixel selfie camera is said, the slim form factor might have a downside — battery size. The Galaxy S25 Edge is rumoured to house a 4,000mAh battery, which could raise questions around how long it'll actually last during heavy with its sleek profile, top-end specs, and premium materials, the Galaxy S25 Edge looks like a unique addition to Samsung's flagship lineup, especially for those who want a big phone but also value portability without sacrificing power.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge prices leaked ahead of potential May 30 launch

Slim phones will soon make a comeback, and leading the charge will be the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. The phone, first teased during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in early January, was initially expected to launch in mid-April. However, for reasons unknown, the phone is now rumoured to be unveiled on May 13 in South Korea via a low-key event. The first sale will reportedly take place on May 23 in South Korea and China, following pre-orders running from May 14 to May 20. advertisementAccording to a report by FNNews, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will launch in the US on May 30 after its release in South Korea and China. The phone is expected to cost between $1,099 – $1,199 in the US, or 1.5 –1.63 million KRW in South Korea. Converting the US prices to Indian rupees, this translates to approximately Rs 94,000 – Rs 1,02,600. However, this is not the official pricing, as Samsung has yet to confirm any details. That said, the phone has been spotted on the BIS certification website, suggesting an imminent launch in India. Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Everything we know so farThe Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was first showcased globally in January earlier this year alongside the Galaxy S25 series. The prime highlight of the S25 Edge is said to be its "slimness," with the device rumoured to be just 5.84mm thick. In comparison, the iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be slightly slimmer at 5.5mm. Nevertheless, the difference is marginal, and with these dimensions, the S25 Edge is poised to be one of the slimmest, most feature-packed flagships yet — and the slimmest handset Samsung has ever made. advertisement To balance weight and durability, the Galaxy S25 Edge is also rumoured to feature a titanium frame, prized for its durability, lightweight nature, and scratch resistance. Thanks to leaks and rumours, we know the phone may come in three finishes: Titanium Icy Blue, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Silver. However, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge isn't just about looks, form factor, and durability. The phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip — the same SoC that powers its S25 siblings. This will reportedly be paired with 12GB RAM and at least 256GB of base storage. With such hardware, users can expect smooth and snappy performance, a hallmark of high-end Samsung devices. While everything sounds impressive, not all rumours are ideal. The rumoured 4,000mAh battery capacity, likely due to the slim form factor, raises questions about real-world endurance. Given how users push their phones — whether for watching videos, playing top-tier games, or capturing photos and videos — it will be interesting to see how the Galaxy S25 Edge holds up. Speaking of cameras, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to feature a dual-rear camera system, reportedly headlined by a 200-megapixel OIS sensor — the same ISOCELL HP2 sensor found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. For selfies, expect to see a 12-megapixel front-facing all the rumoured specs and features, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is poised to be the next big thing in the smartphone world. However, since Samsung has not officially confirmed these details, we recommend taking this information with a healthy dose of scepticism. Samsung might finally end battery size woes with Galaxy S26 series

Samsung smartphones might soon fix the worst chink in their armor. According to the South Korean daily FN News, the company is mulling plans to fit next-gen silicon carbide batteries inside its upcoming Galaxy S26 series flagship smartphones. And it seems the Chaebol's mobile division won't be pulling any punches. As per the report citing industry insiders, Samsung could offer a battery as large as 6,000-7,000 mAh in capacity with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. For comparison, Samsung's current top-tier offering, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, comes equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. The competition, however, is already offering batteries of up to 7,000mAh capacity at nearly half the sticker price of Samsung's flagships. The Korean electronics giant is reportedly keen on deriving benefits of the silicon carbide battery tech, which promises higher energy density, allowing brands to fit high-capacity batteries in smaller packages. Take for example the Red Magic 10 Pro, a phone that is nearly as big as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but offers a 7,000 mAh battery with 100W fast charging chops. Samsung, however, is concerned about the hit on battery longevity. To fix that conundrum, the company is reportedly planning to experiment with different material choices, and adjusting the percentage concentration of silicon in the battery anode to achieve a denser, longer-lasting battery. Another advantage of silicon carbide batteries is that they don't hamper the charging pace figures. For example, brands like OnePlus and Honor have already managed to fit massive batteries in their latest flagships while simultaneously offering charging rates north of 80W in wired mode. To put that into perspective, Samsung's current-gen phones only go up to 45W in wired mode, and far slower in wireless format. The OnePlus 13, on the other hand, allows 50W wireless charging, while Samsung's best phones can only muster a peak top-up rate of 15W. Now, the latest report emerging from Samsung's home market isn't a certainty that the Galaxy S26 series will finally put an end to arguably the weakest aspect of Samsung smartphones. The shift might take another year, or two, even. But it is definitely reassuring to see that Samsung is paying attention to practical innovations and might not remain a laggard for longer than it can afford to. The company's mobile division certainly appears to be chalking the right course lately. As per Counterpoint Research data, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra marked the first time since 2018 that a Samsung Galaxy device has entered the top ten list of the world's highest-selling smartphones each year.
