Grealish's Everton move couldn't be more perfect – just look at David Moyes' history of unleashing gems
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) I LOVE Jack Grealish's move to Everton. In any team, you always need that wildcard in and around a good structure and he can be that guy for David Moyes. At Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, he was limited by the expectation to pass first instead of looking for the space and attacking it without any shackles. It will take a bit of time to get that back because Pep does well to coach that out of you. But Moyes is incredible at unleashing these players. He may be a defensively-minded manager, but he has a history of having these gems within the solid base. Jack has taken a lot of unfair stick recently, and I cannot believe he is being criticised after the role he played for City winning the Treble – just look at his trophy cabinet. People think of that iconic, shirtless, outstretched picture on the team bus celebrating the Treble and how it went downhill from there, but that's nonsense. And people don't like to hear it, but when it is a World Cup year, players bring it more than they normally would. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK Jack has given himself a great chance of winning back his England spot in a team that I don't think will be fighting relegation like previous years. And given he will be playing in a brand new stadium, he has a chance to make history and new memories and become a real Everton hero.

‘Terrible decision' – Fans fume as former Premier League club change badge to design ‘no one wanted'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) STOKE fans were left fuming after the club changed their badge to a design 'no one wanted.' The Championship outfit left supporters shocked as they unveiled a new crest from the 2026/27 season. 2 Stoke have unveiled their new club badge design... supposedly by popular vote 2 Fans lashed out at the new design as they pined for the old crest Credit: Getty Boasting a 'modern' twist, it takes the traditional Stoke badge and transforms it into something well suited for the new era of football. Stoke claim that fans were surveyed over whether they wanted a new badge. It's added that 68% of those asked backed the fresh design. But many on social media were left fuming about it. READ MORE IN FOOTBALL RED ALERT Man Utd 'agree to sell Jadon Sancho and set to make huge loss on £73m flop' One said: 'No one wanted this.' Another declared: 'Don't fix something that doesn't need fixing. Terrible decision.' One noted: 'This is truly c**p.' Another added: 'Looks horrible.' BEST FREE BETS AND BETTING SIGN UP OFFERS Reflecting on the new design, Stoke's COO Simon King said: 'The crest is an integral part of the Club's heritage and this will, therefore, go down as an historic moment for Stoke City. 'Our approach from the outset has been to put our fans at the heart of the process, allowing them to form an identity that truly represents them. You've got the eyes of a hawk if you can spot the differences on Besiktas' new club badge 'Every supporter that has engaged, as well as those who have quietly put their faith in the Club, all have our sincere thanks. 'A huge amount of hard work has gone into bringing the project to this point, from within the Club, from our design agency Drummond Central and from Stoke City Connect whose check, challenge and guidance has been invaluable. 'We are also grateful to the FA and EFL for their guidance around the process to ensure that we comply with the relevant regulations around this change. 'The end result is something that represents the history and tradition our supporters are proud of, and for which Stoke-on-Trent is renowned, and I believe that's the best place to be. 'We are looking forward to our new crest becoming an integral part of the identity of our club from the 26/27 season and for many years to come.'

Ten mega-money transfers that could happen THIS WEEK before Premier League season including Isak, Baleba and Eze
RACE AGAINST TYNE Ten mega-money transfers that could happen THIS WEEK before Premier League season including Isak, Baleba and Eze Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THERE are just four days to go until the new Premier League season kicks off. Champions Liverpool wasted no time in dropping nearly £300million to bolster Arne Slot's squad ahead of their title defence. 14 Liverpool spent big money to land the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike Credit: Reuters 14 Manchester United unveiled their new signings at Old Trafford on Saturday Credit: Getty But as managers across the division make their final preparations ahead of this weekend, chairmen will be trying to get some more players in through the doors in time for the curtain-raisers. SunSport rounds up ten mega-money transfers that could get done THIS WEEK... ALEXANDER ISAK The Newcastle striker's future has been one of sagas of the summer - will he stay or will he go? Liverpool had a £110m offer rejected as the Toon want £150m but how helpful could a sulking, unhappy Isak be for Eddie Howe? But Tottenham have entered talks over the wide man - although City would not entertain offers under £50m. 14 Tottenham made an approach for Savinho Credit: Getty MARC GUEHI The Crystal Palace captain led his side to a second Wembley trophy in three months on Sunday - but could line up for opponents Liverpool this season. Steve Parish admitted the Eagles will sell if the right bid comes in as Guehi enters the final year of his deal. Newcastle have also been interested. Newcastle reportedly had a £25m bid turned down but look set to go back in for the DR Congo international, with Liverpool monitoring the situation. Fulham submitted an offer of £32m but Shakhtar Donetsk are trying to hold out for £43m. 14 Kevin could end up at Fulham Credit: Getty CARLOS BELEBA Manchester United want to bring in another midfielder before the window closes - and would love Baleba in time for the start of the new season. The Cameroon star is only 21 but Brighton will not let him go on the cheap, so much so that the Red Devils may well need to pay a record-breaking £115m-plus for the holding midfielder. 14 Brighton want a record deal if they are to sell Carlos Baleba Credit: Getty XAVI SIMONS Chelsea are after a young, exciting attacker - again. This time it is Xavi Simons being lined up. RB Leipzig will want at least £60m but the Blues may try and strike a deal which sees Christopher Nkunku return to his former club - plus Tyrique George. 14 Xavi Simons' move to Chelsea could see Christopher Nkunku go the other way Credit: Getty 14 TRANSFER NEWS LIVE - KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LATEST FROM A BUSY SUMMER WINDOW ALEJANDRO GARNACHO Copy and paste from above - but this time it is Alejandro Garnacho who could be on his way to Stamford Bridge with talks underway. He is part of the 'bomb squad' deemed surplus to requirements by United gaffer Ruben Amorim, who will happily see the back of the Argentine wideman who was left out of the USA pre-season tour. 14 Alejandro Garnacho is in the Ruben Amorim 'bomb squad' Credit: Getty NICOLAS JACKSON But with all the incomings at Chelsea - including strikers Joao Pedro and Liam Delap - there may be a major exit, too, with Jackson third-choice No9. Jackson would prefer a switch to Newcastle, but the Toon will only bid for him should Isak leave - and they are determined not to let that happen. 14 Nicolas Jackson would be open to joining Newcastle Credit: Alamy EBERECHI EZE Just like his skipper Guehi, Eze continues to be linked with an exit away from Selhurst Park. With the Ademola Lookman deal seemingly off the cards, Arsenal may swoop for the Palace talisman in a package worth £55m to £60m - although Tottenham may attempt to hijack the transfer if they can't get Savinho. 14 Eberechi Eze may swap South London for North London by signing for Arsenal Credit: Alamy

The Eagles were demoted to the Conference League by UEFA last month due to multi-club ownership rules. Palace subsequently submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in a bid to get reinstated. However, that has now been rejected. Crystal Palace will remain in the Conference League as a result, with Nottingham Forest keeping their place in the Europa League. The Premier League champions retained their lead for the majority of the match until Ismaila Sarr levelled the score in the late stages. SunSport's Martin Lipton gives his verdict from Wembley as Crystal Palace beat Liverpool on penalties in Community Shield Dean Henderson was the hero in the shootout, limiting Liverpool to just two goals. After the match, Crystal Palace boss Glasner admitted that he would not trade the Shield for a successful appeal. He said: "No. The players were not scared of noise around us. "Tomorrow we have no influence, so we celebrate tonight, meet tomorrow for lunch then training. We can't think about it." Meanwhile, Henderson said: "We win the FA Cup, we are justified to be in the Europa League. "For football purposes we deserve to be in the Europa League. I think it would devalue the competition unfortunately if we weren't in the Europa League. "Things that are won on the pitch should be rewarded and I think every neutral football fan would agree with that. Let's see. "I know the chairman [Steve Parish] has fought hard against it and fingers crossed we are in the Europa League like we deserve to be. "I know Crystal Palace fans have waited 120 years, maybe even longer, for the first trophy and chance to go on a European tour. "To have that taken away from us is just not right for football and I think everyone would agree with that. I am sure they will see sense and put us back in the Europa League."
