Music lovers dance to deejay's tunes

South Africa's premier Bollywood fusion DJ and live streamer, Deejay Nivaadh Singh (38), recently made his international debut in Auckland, New Zealand. Though originally from Richards Bay, Singh has cultivated a loyal following on the South Coast. His regular appearances in the region have drawn impressive crowds, and he has become a household name among music lovers. His international debut marks an exciting new chapter in his already remarkable career. The breakthrough performance took place at Studio The Venue, one of Auckland's top-tier live music arenas, which has hosted legendary artists such as Sisqo, Shaggy, Fatman Scoop, Janet Jackson, and The Black Eyed Peas. 'To perform on the same stage is a testament to the global appeal and professional calibre I have developed over the years. My passion for music began in 2006, with a makeshift drum set made out of cardboard boxes and pencils as drumsticks. I started my music career as a drummer and then moved on to the art of deejaying using two DVD players and a second-hand mixer which cost R40.' Today, Singh hosts one of SA's largest music live streaming shows, For The Love Of Music or #FTLOM, earning him many achievements such as Official Artist Verifications on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, and celebrity recognitions from Chandana Dixit, Vidya Vox, and Jay Sean. With over 450 episodes, #FTLOM is popular in 56 countries. It has reached audiences on a personal level, especially those who cannot experience entertainment outside of their homes. Also, the brand has branched into #FTLOM Outreach which assists many community organisations, religious establishments, orphanages, and animal shelters to raise funds. Away from music, Singh works in the mechanical engineering sector. He credits his success to his wife Fiona Khan, his friends and family, the #FTLOM team, and his fans.
