How to watch Brentford vs Brighton live: Stream link, TV channel, team news, prediction

Brentford and Brighton are both seeking the strengthening of European hopes and the ends of winless runs when the Seagulls visit the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday. The hosts are winless in three-straight matches, albeit against very challenging opposition. Brentford fell 2-1 at Newcastle before drawing with Chelsea and Arsenal. Advertisement WATCH – Brentford v Brighton As for the visitors, Brighton will have wanted much more than the two points they've taken from four matches. Draws with Man City and Leicester City are sandwiched around losses to Villa and Crystal Palace. Brighton have slipped to 10th on the Premier League table, closer to the bottom half of the table than the top seven, while Brentford are five points back of the Seagulls and simply need to win this game — and a few more — to fan the flames of a run toward the Conference or Europa League. 'Brilliant forward planning' meets 'team spirit'

Brentford were just one of the teams this weekend who showed the huge gap which now exists between the established and the promoted Premier League 4-0 win at Leicester means we have now scored 20 goals this season against the Foxes, Southampton and Ipswich in only five games – made up of one five, three fours and a three. This follows on from our 5-1 win at Luton at the end of the last recruitment seems to have been much better than theirs – buying players in the Championship who we knew could easily also play in the Premier starting line-up contained four of our Championship players and two more would have been involved but for injury. That shows continuity and brilliant forward length of service of so many key players has also produced a superb team spirit, which has been one of our strengths in the Premier is between both the older and the newer players, and another great example of this occurred late in the game at the King Power signing Fabio Carvalho has had a stop-start time with the Bees so far, making only three starts in his 19 Premier League has been talk in some sections of the media about him being unsettled, but whenever it has been raised in press conferences, Thomas Frank has defended the player, saying he trains well and his chance will after Carvalho scored Brentford's fourth at Leicester and ran towards us in the away end, it was great to see his team-mates looking genuinely delighted for him that he had perfect end to our fourth successive away win!Find more from Ian Westbrook at Beesotted podcast, external

Brentford blaze to 4-0 win over leaky Leicester

Brentford's Fabio Carvalho celebrates scoring their fourth goal with Bryan Mbeumo Action Images via Reuters/Andrew Boyers (Reuters) - Brentford's Bryan Mbuemo scored one goal and made another in a 4-0 win over Leicester City on Friday as a dismal display of defending saw the relegation-threatened Foxes slump to their sixth home defeat in a row in the Premier League. With 59 goals conceded and 10 defeats in their last 11 league games, Leicester now boast the worst defensive record in the league, and Friday's performance offered little to suggest that Ruud van Nistlerooy's side are capable of turning things around. An early chance for Jamie Vardy got the game off to a positive start, but that was one of few bright spots for the home fans to cheer as things quickly fell apart. The rout started when Bees playmaker Mikkel Damsgaard teed up Youane Wissa to open the scoring in the 17th minute, and 10 minutes later the Dane picked out Mbeumo on the right, and he curled home an unstoppable shot to make it 2-0. Five minutes later Leicester's defence was caught napping again at a free kick as Mbuemo picked out Christian Norgaard, who flashed a header into the net, prompting several fans to head for the exits. Norgaard then struck the left-hand post with another header in first-half stoppage time and the Bees also had a goal ruled out for handball before the break as Leicester's rearguard offered scant resistance. The introduction of Argentine forward Facundo Buonanotte in the 55th minute gave Leicester's attack a much-needed boost, but the spark he provided was quickly quenched by a torrential downpour that went on for most of the second half. Instead, Brentford substitute Fabio Carvalho rattled in a late fourth as the Bees moved up to 10th in the standings on 37 points, while their hosts remain in 19th on 17 points, with Van Nistelrooy cutting a glum figure as he discussed his side's performance. "You have to acknowledge it's a huge step back. There was hope after recent performances, the beginning of the game was hopeful ... after the bright start from us, we were never in the game again and at halftime the game was done," he told Sky Sports. "Overall, the general level and the difference between the level between Brentford and us was big. They showed they are big steps ahead of us at the moment." Brentford goal-scorer Wissa displayed a ruthless streak as he explained how the game played out. "I know they are not in top shape and we are, and as soon as we scored we started to control the game from the first minute to the end," he said. "We wanted to control the game, keep a clean sheet and get the three points."

Brentford reject loan offer from Strasbourg for Fabio Carvalho

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Brentford have rejected a loan offer for Fabio Carvalho (22) from Strasbourg. The Portuguese attacking midfielder has several admirers among those associated with the owners of the Racing club – BlueCo. Liam Rosenior is a big fan of the player. The English head coach is familiar with the former Liverpool attacking midfielder, having coached the 22-year-old while he was on loan at Hull City during the 2023/24 season. Rosenior is keen to reunite with the Fulham academy graduate. Brentford have rejected an initial proposal for Carvalho. However, Strasbourg are expected to return with another offer for the attacking midfielder before the end of the winter transfer window. The former RB Leipzig loanee was an unused substitute this weekend for the Premier League club as they narrowly defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. It remains to be seen if Carvalho would be interested in a move to France. GFFN | Liam Wraith
