Parma part ways with manager Pecchia after dismal Serie A run
Feb 17 (Reuters) - Parma have parted ways with manager Fabio Pecchia, the Serie A club said on Monday, after a fourth consecutive defeat kept the promoted side in the relegation zone. Sunday's 1-0 loss at home to AS Roma extended Parma's winless run to seven games which has seen the club drop to 18th place in the standings, having won just four of their 25 league games. Pecchia took charge in 2022 with Parma in Serie B, and in his first season the club lost out in the promotion playoffs before winning the second tier championship last season to secure automatic promotion to the Italian top flight. In October, Parma renewed Pecchia's contract until 2027, but the side's descent into the bottom three has brought a premature end to his time at the club. Parma host Bologna on Sunday.

Parma sack Fabio Pecchia after defeat to Roma
After the defeat against Roma, Parma has decided to fire Fabio Pecchia. The home defeat against the Giallorossi effectively condemned the Emilian coach, who is paying for the team's poor performance. After a good start to the season, the Gialloblu collected a long series of disappointing results that have put their permanence in Italy's top division at serious risk. Parma is currently in 18th place with 20 points, right in the relegation zone. The official dismissal will arrive in the next few hours, writes Sky Sport.

Parma set to sack manager Fabio Pecchia
Serie A side Parma are now set to sack manager Fabio Pecchia and the decision has already been made. Gianluca di Marzio has reported today that Parma's decision to sack Pecchia has already been communicated to the manager and the decision was made in the last few days. They have lost their last four games in the Serie A and this has left them at 18th in the table after a rather promising start to the campaign. They found themselves in the top four early on in the season but things have fallen apart since then, despite a host of promising players. They have won only four games in the season so far and have conceded as many as 45 goals in the campaign, which is the second worst defensive tally in the division. They have scored 30 goals though, which is the joint second-highest goalscoring tally in the bottom half of the division. Kaustubh Pandey I GIFN

Parma coach Fabio Pecchia previews Roma match
Parma head coach Fabio Pecchia attended his pre-match presser ahead of Sunday's fixture with Roma. 'We are going through a difficult moment,' said the Italian technician. 'Evidently what we are doing is not enough to win matches.' 'We are facing a team of European dimensions, they were close to winning against Porto on Thursday.' 'Roma have technical depth and the right mentality. In the first leg it was one of the few games where we did too little and lost too easily.' 'Tomorrow on the pitch, in addition to the tactical and technical aspect, something more is needed.' 'Roma is beautiful to watch, they know how to create intensity and have quality. I would steal Angeliño from them, given that he is a player who can do both phases with energy and continuity. It would be too easy to say Dybala, Hummels and Paredes.'
