Faheem 's journey to the battle of the border
Faheem Khan, a proud Pakistani squash coach, has made his mark on the international squash scene, recently being selected to coach the US National Junior Squash Team at the prestigious Battle of the Border tournament between Team USA and Team Canada. The Battle of the Border is an annual event that showcases the top junior squash talent from both nations in a thrilling team format. This year's edition took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where Team USA retained the trophy after a weekend of high-intensity matches. "It was an incredible honor to represent Team USA and work with such talented young athletes," said Faheem. "The players displayed exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the event." Faheem's journey to this achievement spans three countries and over two decades of dedication to the sport. Born and raised in Pakistan, he began his squash career coaching young players at home before moving to Dubai, where he spent several years training and developing junior talent at an international level. In Feb.2020, Faheem moved to the United States, where he now serves as Head Squash Professional at Life Time King of Prussia in Pennsylvania. Under his guidance, many of his students have gone on to achieve top national rankings, win championships, and represent the US in major international tournaments. His story is not only one of personal success but also of inspiring young players to dream bigwhether they are from Pakistan, Dubai, or the US. Faheem's role at the Battle of the Border is another milestone in a career dedicated to growing the sport of squash and nurturing the next generation of champions.

Afghan blanket seller assaulted in Nagpur: Hit with cement block, called ‘terrorist'; police launch hunt for 3 accused
NAGPUR: A man from Afghanistan who sold blankets on the streets of Nagpur was critically injured after being attacked by three people following an argument, during which one of the assailants allegedly called him a "terrorist," police said. The incident occurred on Sunday night in Yadav Nagar, under the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar police station. The victim, identified as Faheem Khan alias Mamtoor Margak, was allegedly attacked with a cement block by Ajay Chavan and his friends Rishi and Mayank. According to police, Chavan allegedly called the Afghan national a "terrorist" during the altercation. Officials added that Margak, who had previous financial dealings with Chavan, was struck on the head and is currently in critical condition. A case has been registered, and efforts are under way to trace and arrest the three accused, officials said.

Afghan man seriously injured in attack by three men in Nagpur
NAGPUR: A man from Afghanistan, who used to sell blankets on streets in Nagpur city, was seriously injured after being attacked by three persons, police said on Monday. The incident took place in Yadav Nagar under Yashodhara Nagar police station limits on Sunday night and the Afghan national was identified by police as Faheem Khan alias Mamtoor Margak. Officials of the Yashodhara Nagar police station said three men, Ajay Chavan and his friends Rishi and Mayank, assaulted Margak with a cement block after a heated argument over some issue.

Session court grants bail to 68 Nagpur riots accused
Nagpur: A Nagpur Sessions Court on Monday granted bail to 68 individuals accused in March 17 Nagpur riots. Riots erupted in city's Mahal area over a controversy surrounding Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. This decision follows June 25 order by the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court, which granted bail to nine others in the same case. All 68 were granted conditional bail with a surety of Rs1 lakh each. Conditions include reporting to the local police station twice a week and fully cooperating with the investigation and trial. Many of the accused had not received physical copies of the order by Monday evening. Additional sessions judge AR Kulkarni cited similarities with the HC's observations to approve the bail applications. The 68 accused argued that their arrests were based solely on unverified intelligence inputs without corroborative evidence. However, the bail hearing for Faheem Khan, identified as the key conspirator in multiple FIRs filed across various police stations, is scheduled for July 4. "We were arrested without any concrete proof. The prosecution argued that the applicants formed an unlawful assembly at Bhaldarpura square, armed with deadly weapons and stones, and attacked police personnel. They were accused of using petrol bombs, hurling abuses at officers, and causing damage to public and police vehicles parked on the road. Earlier, the Bombay HC's Nagpur bench had granted bail to Mohd Raheel Zakir Khan and eight others. Building on that precedent, 68 additional individuals, including Mohd Harish Mohd Ismail, Mohd Shahnawaz Shaikh, Mohd Yusuf Shaikh, and Naseem Salim Shaikh, sought relief from the sessions court. District government pleader Nitin Telgote said Ganeshpeth police had booked the accused under various provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including rioting, Arms Act, Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, Maharashtra Defacement of Property Act, and Maharashtra Police Act.

Aurangzeb tomb row: Court grants bail to 72 accused in Nagpur violence
The Nagpur District and Sessions Court on Monday granted bail to 72 individuals accused in the violent clashes that erupted in Nagpur's Palace Complex in March this follows a recent decision by the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court, which last week granted bail to nine others accused in the same case. The High Court noted that the investigation had been completed and a chargesheet filed, thus finding no justification for continued custody of the violence took place on March 17 amid escalating tensions over the Aurangzeb tomb issue in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. A rumour regarding the burning of a holy Chadar (quilt) reportedly sparked the unrest. Around 500 to 600 people from the Muslim community gathered near the Shree Chhatrapati Maharaj Statue at Gandhi Gate in Nagpur, raising slogans against the police. According to the prosecution, the gathering soon turned violent as the crowd allegedly armed themselves with stones, petrol bombs, and other weapons, attacking police personnel. The violence resulted in damage to several police vehicles and public property. The prosecution further claimed that women police officers were abused and outraged during the incident, with four officers and 24 police constables sustaining revealed that the incident may have been instigated through messages circulated in a WhatsApp group named 'Sunni Youth Force,' administered by co-accused Faheem Khan.
