Saudi FM Arrives in Damascus Accompanied by High-Level Economic Delegation

Basant Ahmed Saudi Foreign Minister (FM) Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and the high-level accompanying economic delegation arrived today in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on an official visit. The high-level economic delegation includes Mohammed bin Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, Advisor at the Royal Court; Abdulmohsen bin Saad Al-Khalaf, Deputy Minister of Finance; Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Dubaikhi, Assistant Minister of Investment; Abdullah bin Fahd bin Zaraa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Development Affairs; as well as several officials from various sectors. During the visit, Saudi FM is scheduled to meet with President Ahmed Al-Shara, the President of the Syrian Republic. OIC Holds Meeting between Ministerial Committee on Gaza with Madrid Group, Several European Countries

Mohamed Mandour Members of the Ministerial Committee Assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit on Developments in Gaza held an expanded meeting in Madrid, the capital of Spain. The meeting was chaired by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League; His Excellency Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation; and Dr. Nuh Yılmaz, Deputy Foreign Minister of Türkiye, including the Madrid Group and a number of European countries. The meeting addressed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as international efforts to end the war and alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Discussions also focused on preparations for the upcoming high-level international conference on the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, to be held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City in June. The conference will be co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic. The committee members underscored the importance of joint cooperation to ensure the success of the high-level international conference, stressing the need for clear commitments and tangible political, economic, and security support. They reaffirmed the importance of implementing the two-state solution based on relevant international resolutions, ensuring the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The committee also commended the efforts of the Madrid Group and European nations in supporting the pursuit of a just and lasting peace. The members expressed hope for the success of the Qatari-Egyptian-American mediation efforts to secure the release of hostages. They emphasized the urgent need to end the blockade on the Gaza Strip, to open all crossings immediately and unconditionally, and to ensure the continuous delivery of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid to meet the needs of the population. The members of the Ministerial Committee reaffirmed their condemnation of the repeated violations committed by the Israeli occupation authorities against civilians in the Gaza Strip. Saudi FM Arrives in Madrid to Participate in Expanded Meeting on Gaza

Nada Mustafa Saudi Foreign Minister (FM) Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah arrived in Madrid, the capital of Spain, to participate in the expanded meeting on Gaza. The Saudi FM intends to participate in the expanded meeting of the Ministerial Committee appointed by the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit on developments in the Gaza Strip, the Madrid Group, and a number of European countries. The meeting is scheduled to discuss developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as international efforts to stop the war and end the humanitarian suffering in the Strip. Taarek Refaat The Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan issued a joint statement this evening, Friday, regarding the meeting of the delegation of the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit regarding developments in the Gaza Strip with the French Foreign Minister in Paris. The joint statement stated that within the framework of the efforts of the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit regarding developments in the Gaza Strip, the delegation of the Ministerial Committee, headed by Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; and Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, held a meeting, Friday, with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic Jean-Noël, at the headquarters of the French Foreign Ministry in Paris. The meeting discussed international efforts aimed at ending the war on the Gaza Strip and allowing the flow of humanitarian aid into the Strip. It also discussed strengthening joint efforts to halt the violations perpetrated by the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinian people and the occupied territories, which violate international laws, norms, and international humanitarian law. It also discussed supporting efforts to achieve peace in the region and implement the two-state solution in accordance with relevant international laws, thus achieving security and prosperity for the region. As Pakistan ratcheted up tensions buoyed by a fresh IMF loan resulting in swift and precise Indian reaction on Pakistan Air Force bases, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah dialed Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistani leadership to de escalate tensions. Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held separate telephonic calls with Jaishankar and Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar. A Saudi Foreign Ministry statement noted that the Saudi Foreign Minister held discussions focused on de-escalating the rising tensions between India and Pakistan , along with a focus on efforts to end the ongoing military confrontations between the two countries. He highlighted Saudi Arabia's commitment towards the security and stability of the region. Earlier this week Saudi Minister of State for External Affairs visited both India and Pakistan with a message of de-escalation. The US is also intensifying its efforts to descalate the tensions between India and Pakistan. Rubio held conversations with Jaishankar, Dar, and Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir (man behind Pakistan's escalation). Rubio told Dar on Saturday and reiterated the call to "re-establish direct communication" between India and Pakistan, as noted by the press statement from the US Department of State. "Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Secretary Rubio reiterated that both parties must find ways to de-escalate the current situation and re-establish direct communication to avoid miscalculation," the state department said. Rubio repeated his call of offering American assistance for starting "constructive talks" between the two countries in order to "avoid future conflicts". Rubio had shared the same sentiment with his Indian counterpart, Jaishankar on Saturday and Gen Munir on Friday. Jaishankar wrote on X, "Had a conversation with US Secretary of state Marco Rubio this morning. India's approach has always been measured and responsible and remains so." India has maintained that all its actions are measured and non-escalatory in nature.
