How to Watch Jac Caglianone's MLB Debut vs Cardinals

How to Watch Jac Caglianone's MLB Debut vs Cardinals originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The St. Louis Cardinals remain seven games above .500 after what was an extremely productive month of May, but still trail the Chicago Cubs by four games in the National League Central race. Advertisement Next up, the Cardinals (33-26) travel home to host their neighbors and rivals, the Kansas City Royals (31-29). St. Louis comes into the contest coming off a road series loss to the Texas Rangers. The Royals enter having lost three-straight series against the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds and Minnesota Twins. With the team falling down the standings, manager Matt Quatraro decided it was time to call up No.1 prospect Jac Caglianone. Royals' Jac Caglianone expected to make MLB Debut The Royals called up Jac Caglianone on Monday morning after selecting him with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 Draft. Caglianone is the No. 10 overall prospect in baseball and he has been dominating the Double-A and Triple-A scene. Will the Cardinals starters be able to keep the young power-hitter at bay? Advertisement 2. Rivalry Weekend Rematch After facing off during MLB's first ever 'Rivalry Weekend' last month, both teams are hungry to stay in the playoff hunt. The Cardinals took the three-game series in Kansas City 2-1, and after a series victory over the Giants, the Royals have struggled to find their footing. No matter what, these teams are going to put up a strong fight against each other, but will the Cardinals stay hot? Or will the Royals break their losing ways? 3. Battle of the 'Best-Kept Secret' Pitchers This matchup features two of Bleacher Report's 'Best-Kept Secrets for 2025 Season': Cardinals reliever Kyle Leahy and Royals rookie starter Noah Cameron. Advertisement Leahy has posted a 2.32 ERA over 31 innings as a reliable late-inning option, while Cameron owns a 1.05 ERA through four starts since his April call-up. Neither entered 2025 with fanfare, but both are now key arms on two of the league's most surprising teams. NYY @ LAA: Carlos Rodón vs. Tyler Anderson

The Yankees took care of business last night in Orange County, with a tidy 5-1 win led by a tremendous start from Ryan Yarbrough. Now, they'll turn from a guy we're surprised by to the guy pitching like a man possessed as the club tries for yet another series win, with Carlos Rodón getting the ball for a late start in Anaheim. Since the calendar turned to May, Rodón seemingly decided not to allow runs anymore. He's bookended his four starts this month with shutout performances, and overall allowed just five men to cross the plate in 23.2 innings, while striking out 28. Max Fried is getting plenty of headlines for his play with the club, but Carlos has become that 1A we have always hoped for. Advertisement Tyler Anderson meanwhile seems to be pitching against the clock. A 3.60 ERA ain't bad at all, but a strikeout rate well below league average and allowing the fifth-most home runs in baseball breeds trouble. He's going to need to fix one, or both of those things, or that ERA won't be below four for long. Personally, I'm OK if he fixes them starting tomorrow. I feel bad telling you to check out something called 'FanDuel Sports Network', but if you don't have access to YES, it's where you gotta go tonight. Cardinals vs Tigers: How to Watch and What to Watch for

The St. Louis Cardinals have been rolling and continue to push the Chicago Cubs for the top spot in the NL Central. Next up, the Cardinals (26-21) travel home to face the AL-Central leading Detroit Tigers (31-16), the only MLB team with over 30 wins this season. St. Louis comes into the contest with 12 wins in its past 14 contests after a series victory over the Royals in Kansas City during rivalry week. Advertisement The Cardinals took their rivalry with the Royals seriously, outscoring the home team 12-5 through the three-game series. Pitching Showdown: Skubal vs. Fedde The series features a marquee pitching matchup on May 20, with reigning AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal facing the Cardinals' Erick Fedde. Skubal leads a Tigers rotation that ranks among the league's best, while Fedde has been a stabilizing force for St. Louis. This duel could set the tone for the series. 2. Javier Báez's Resurgence Javier Báez has continued to impress for the Tigers this season, transitioning from shortstop to center field and revitalizing his career. With a .300 batting average, 6 home runs, and 29 RBI, Báez has been instrumental in Detroit's strong start. His defensive versatility and offensive production make him a key player to watch in this matchup. Advertisement 3. Battle of the streaks The Cardinals and the Tigers are two of the hottest teams in the MLB, both coming into the contest on back-to-back series victories. It will be a big test for both teams and it could come down to the final pitch.
