Vanessa Kirby debuts baby bump at Fantastic Four premiere in Mexico, expecting first child with partner Paul Rabil
Vanessa Kirby, known for her roles in 'The Crown' and 'Mission: Impossible', surprised fans on Saturday when she revealed she is expecting her first child with partner, Paul Rabil. Reports in December 2024 suggested the Vanessa and Paul were engaged, though they have not confirmed the news publicly. Kirby is expecting the baby with her partner, Paul Rabil, a former professional lacrosse player from Maryland. Rabil's background in sport began early, encouraged by his parents Allan and Jean Anne Rabil. He went on to have a successful career in both the Major League Lacrosse and National Lacrosse League, and played for Johns Hopkins University during college. In 'Fantastic Four: The First Steps', Kirby plays Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman. In a fitting twist, her character is also pregnant in the film. This crossover of reel and real life left fans amazed. The announcement came during a photocall for 'Fantastic Four: The First Steps' in Mexico, where Kirby appeared in a sleeveless, shimmering green gown. The gown featured a mock turtle neckline and geometric patterns that echoed her character's superhero costume in the film. One wrote online, 'Is Vanessa Kirby really pregnant or is this just part of the campaign?' Others were quick to point out the clever coincidence, calling the promotional tour 'insane' in the best way. 'Fantastic Four: The First Steps' also stars Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It is scheduled to release on July 25, 2025. In the film, the Fantastic Four must protect their 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic world from the planet-devouring cosmic being Galactus. Apart from the main cast, the film also features Ralph Ineson, Julia Garner, Natasha Lyonne, and others.

John Malkovich shares why he constantly turned down ‘gruelling' Marvel films
John Malkovich has criticised Marvel for the lack of money that was being offered to him to appear in one of their films, admitting that he turned down multiple roles as a result. The 71-year-old will make his debut in the MCU this year appearing as an as-yet-unnamed character in Fantastic Four: The First Steps but according to the man himself, he could have starred in a film much earlier if the pay was better. 'The reason I didn't do them had nothing to do with any artistic considerations whatsoever. I didn't like the deals they made, at all,' the Dangerous Liaisons actor told GQ. 'These films are quite gruelling to make,' Malkovich added. 'If you're going to hang from a crane in front of a green screen for six months, pay me. 'You don't want to pay me, it's cool, but then I don't want to do it, because I'd rather be onstage, or be directing a play, or doing something else.' After shooting the new Fantastic Four movie, Malkovich appeared to have a more positive outlook on Marvel's methods saying that it's 'not that dissimilar to doing theatre' because 'you imagine a bunch of stuff that isn't there and do your little play'. The Con Air star also said he was keen to work with director Matt Shakman again, having previously collaborated with him on the 2014 crime drama Cut Back. Malkovich's experiences with Marvel paychecks would appear to be in contrast with some of the franchise's biggest stars. Robert Downey Jr is reportedly being paid a huge amount of money to return to Marvel as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. The Oscar winner's fee for returning to the MCU was allegedly revealed in August by Variety, who reported that the actor will be paid upwards of $80m (£62.7m) to play the villain. The report states: 'For Downey, who helped catapult Marvel into a money-printing machine thanks to his turn as Tony Stark in the first I ron Man film in 2008, his deal also is filled with perks that include private jet travel, dedicated security and a whole 'trailer encampment' for the newly minted Oscar winner.' Marvel boss Kevin Feige reportedly also secured Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame directing duo the Russo brothers with an $80m (£62.7m) payday. According to the outlet, Downey Jr will cost Marvel 'significantly more'.

Here's Our First Look at "The Fantastic Four: First Steps"
Marvel has finally unveiled the teaser trailer for 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps.' The movie fixed on the story of Marvel's First Family — the first characters created for Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby — "Fantastic Four: The First Steps." This version of the Fantastic Four will take place in a retro-futuristic 1960s Manhattan. Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed on 'The Official Marvel Podcast' that the film will be a period piece set in New York City, although he said that it may not be the same New York City fans are familiar with in the MCU. The full synopsis reads: "Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' introduces Marvel's First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus' plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren't bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal." "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" will be the first live-action iteration of Marvel's First Family since 2015, when Fox's failed attempt at rebooting the property. The movie will introduce a new iteration of the heroes in the MCU presented by Pedro Pascal, Venessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The cast also includes Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and John Malkovich. The trailer provides glimpses of the heroes' lives before and after they got their powers, along with a sneak peek of villain Galactus. But most of all, it underlines the importance of the Fantastic Four as a team: 'Whatever life throws at us, we face it together — as a family,' Kirby says in the clip. The movie is directed by Matt Shakman ('WandaVision') and written by a Peter Cameron, Josh Friedman and Jeff Kaplan. Feige will serve as producer, Jess Hall is the cinematographer and Michael Giacchino composes the score. "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" is set for release in theaters on July 25.
