Here's Our First Look at "The Fantastic Four: First Steps"
Marvel has finally unveiled the teaser trailer for 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps.'
The movie fixed on the story of Marvel's First Family — the first characters created for Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby — "Fantastic Four: The First Steps."
This version of the Fantastic Four will take place in a retro-futuristic 1960s Manhattan.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed on 'The Official Marvel Podcast' that the film will be a period piece set in New York City, although he said that it may not be the same New York City fans are familiar with in the MCU.
The full synopsis reads: "Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' introduces Marvel's First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus' plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren't bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal."
"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" will be the first live-action iteration of Marvel's First Family since 2015, when Fox's failed attempt at rebooting the property.
The movie will introduce a new iteration of the heroes in the MCU presented by Pedro Pascal, Venessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
The cast also includes Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and John Malkovich.
The trailer provides glimpses of the heroes' lives before and after they got their powers, along with a sneak peek of villain Galactus. But most of all, it underlines the importance of the Fantastic Four as a team: 'Whatever life throws at us, we face it together — as a family,' Kirby says in the clip.
The movie is directed by Matt Shakman ('WandaVision') and written by a Peter Cameron, Josh Friedman and Jeff Kaplan. Feige will serve as producer, Jess Hall is the cinematographer and Michael Giacchino composes the score.
"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" is set for release in theaters on July 25.
