Ilkley's High Speed Training partners with food redistribution charity
An Ilkley-based e-learning provider has offered free training and technical support to a regional food charity.
High Speed Training partnered with FareShare Yorkshire, a charity founded in 1998 that redistributes surplus food to other frontline charities.
Volunteers from High Speed Training have supported the charity with "modernising and improving" its "digital capability," including setting up a secure shared drive, donating laptops, and installing remote access software so that ongoing technical support can be provided.
High Speed Training also provided 150 free training courses covering Health and Safety, Manual Handling, Working at Height, and Mental Health Awareness.
In addition, it helped FareShare Yorkshire to switch energy suppliers, which could save the charity more than £25,000 over a three year period.
Amy Mortimer, head of social impact at High Speed Training, said: "By supporting FareShare Yorkshire with specific IT knowledge, as well as donating courses and digital equipment, we are delighted to have been able to help them improve their operational efficiency, saving vital pounds and streamlining processes that will enable more surplus food to be redistributed to the people who need it most.
'This is just the start of our partnership."
