Brindavan Gardens and Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) dam entry and service fees doubled from May 2025
MANDYA: The Cauvery Neeravari Nigam , which oversees the iconic Brindavan Gardens and the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Dam, has revised and significantly increased the entry and service fees for visitors, effective May 1, 2025. The revision comes after a six-year gap, with officials citing a sharp rise in maintenance costs and reduced footfall in the post-COVID era as key reasons for the hike. As per the new structure, the entry fee for adults was doubled from Rs 50 to Rs 100. For children, the fee increased from Rs 20 to Rs 50. Officials explained that the overall cost of maintaining the gardens surged, with the current maintenance cost jumping to Rs 14 crore annually, up from Rs 12 crore. Speaking to TOI, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Assistant Executive Engineer Faruque Ahmed Abbu said that the footfall has not returned to pre-COVID levels, and the operational expenses grew significantly. Factoring in all these parameters, we decided to revise the rates. The hike will definitely enable us to maintain much better, the senior official from the Cauvery Neeravari Nigam stated. This marks the first hike in entry and related fees since 2019.
