Seniors hit the runway for Make-A-Wish Foundation fashion event
WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Walton County seniors are strutting the runway for children in need.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation for Central and Northern Florida hosted their first ever 'Fashion for a cause' event on Friday evening.
It took place at Watersound Fountains Senior Living Facility in Inlet Beach. The event included a reception, followed by a fashion show starring 14 Watersound residents.
Guests were provided with charts to pick their favorite fashion looks by category. The outfits were provided by J. McLaughlin and Dillard's.
All of the donations and ticket sales will go directly to the Make-A-Wish general fund, which goes to helping kids like 8-year-old Vyla Leynes from Panama City achieve their dreams while battling severe illnesses.
Vyla was diagnosed with Wilms' tumor when she was four years old.
'It was kind of scary, but I felt better with it. So I had like presents from people because I knew that I was surrounded by people that loved me,' Vyla said.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is always open to donations and community business partners.
