J-Hope Announces A One-Night-Only Live Concert In Cinemas Globally
J-Hope's solo Hope on the Street Tour ends with a live cinema broadcast, capping off a milestone ... More year filled with new hits, global touring, and Billboard history. PARIS, FRANCE - JANUARY 20: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY - For Non-Editorial use please seek approval from Fashion House) J-Hope from BTS attends the Dior Homme Menswear Fall-Winter 2023-2024 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on January 20, 2023 in Paris, France. (Photo by Stephane Cardinale - Corbis/Corbis via Getty Images) 2025 has been an especially busy year for J-Hope. The BTS musician has been focusing heavily on his solo output, as the group that brought him to superstardom remains on hiatus until all seven members complete their military enlistment. In addition to releasing several new tracks and making history on the Billboard charts in the past few months, J-Hope also embarked on his first solo tour. The trek, which has taken him to a number of countries across several continents, only has a few dates left – and one of them will be truly special. Fans around the world will get to take part in the concert, as it will be broadcast live to theaters globally. J-Hope's Hope on the Street Tour is ending in about a month, with his final two shows scheduled for May 31 and June 1 in Osaka, Japan. The May 31 concert will be broadcast to cinemas worldwide, live. This special event gives people a chance to take in the show once more — or finally get to see J-Hope live if they weren't able to attend one of the performances. The film, titled J-Hope – Hope on the Street in Japan: Live Viewing, is sure to be a thrilling show for die-hard J-Hope followers who didn't live close enough to one of the concerts in the trek to attend, and perhaps also a quick moneymaker for Hybe and BigHit, as the companies are credited as both director and producer. Concert films have become increasingly popular and populous in traditional movie theaters over the past several years, as streaming platforms continue to claim more market share in the movie industry. With both streaming-only titles gaining popularity and the window between theatrical and home release shortening, theater chains have had to find creative ways to attract audiences. Music has been a major part of that strategy, especially via concert films. Most of these projects are not live, though, which makes the South Korean star's move an especially exciting one. While J-Hope is not the first to attempt a real-time screening, it's still a daring technological move to sell what may be thousands — if not tens of thousands — of tickets for one night and hope everything goes off perfectly. Tickets for the approximately three-hour movie go on sale Friday, May 9, less than a month before the film hits theaters. J-Hope has a sizable solo catalog with which to create his tour's setlist. He launched his solo career with the mixtape Hope World in 2018, followed it up with the 2022 album Jack in the Box, and just last year, he dropped the EP Hope on the Street Vol. 1. In 2025 alone, he's reached the Hot 100 with a trio of new tunes. "LV Bag," a collaboration with Don Toliver, Speedy, and Pharrell Williams, came first. J-Hope also fronted both "Sweet Dreams" with Miguel and "Mona Lisa," which helped promote the tour and may be the beginning of another exciting chapter in his solo musical journey, as a part two of his Hope on the Street EP may be in the works.

J-Hope Matches His BTS Bandmates RM, Jin And Suga
J-Hope's 'Mona Lisa' debuts at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, selling over 12,000 copies and ... More tying him with several BTS bandmates among the most successful K-pop soloists. (Photo by Stephane Cardinale - Corbis/Corbis via Getty Images) J-Hope has made a name for himself both as a member of BTS and as a soloist, and this week, he proves once again that he doesn't need the band to reach a lofty position on a major ranking. The superstar is back at No. 1 on a Billboard chart, and his latest win is an especially exciting one. His new single 'Mona Lisa' launches as a brand new bestseller in America, instantly helping the superstar make history and tie several of his closest musical friends in the process. J-Hope's new track 'Mona Lisa' arrives on several Billboard charts this week, and it's most impressive starting point is on the Digital Song Sales chart. That list, which ranks the bestselling tracks in the U.S. based on purchases via platforms like iTunes and Amazon, crowns the tune as the bestselling cut in the country. It starts its run at No. 1, earning the BTS alum his second leader on the tally. According to Luminate, 'Mona Lisa' sold 12,300 copies in its debut frame. That sum is easily enough to secure the title the top spot, as no other song even comes close this week. The runner-up, 'Anxiety' by Doechii, sold 7,700 copies. J-Hope's new drop is the only track to break into five-digit territory in the most recent period. 'Mona Lisa' is J-Hope's second career leader on the Digital Song Sales chart. What makes his latest winner especially notable is that it follows just one month after his first. His only other chart-topper is 'Sweet Dreams,' a collaboration with Miguel. While he had previously appeared in the top 10 on the tally 11 times, it took him years to finally hit No. 1. Now, he has two such wins, and they arrived almost back-to-back, as 'Sweet Dreams' ruled in March. With two No. 1s now to his name, J-Hope joins an exclusive group. Among all K-pop soloists, he is now tied for the fourth-most leaders in the history of the Digital Song Sales chart. Leading the way is Jimin, who has collected six No. 1s. Jung Kook isn't far behind with five, while Suga — who also goes by Agust D when releasing music on his own — has managed three. At the moment, J-Hope is even with RM and Jin, his BTS bandmates, who have each landed two winners as soloists. 'Mona Lisa' is a bestseller, but that's not the only Billboard chart where it appears. The track also debuts on the Hot 100, the main list of the most-consumed songs in America, at No. 65. It becomes J-Hope's seventh solo placement on that competitive ranking. Globally, the tune performs even better. It starts its run at No. 9 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., giving the singer and rapper his first top 10 on that tally. Over on the Billboard Global 200, 'Mona Lisa' nearly reaches the same position, opening instead at No. 14.

J-Hope Keeps His Winning Streak Going With Another Hot 100 Smash
J-Hope debuts 'Mona Lisa' at No. 65 on the Hot 100, marking his seventh solo entry and third new hit ... More of 2025—his biggest year yet on the U.S. charts. PARIS, FRANCE - JANUARY 20: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY - For Non-Editorial use please seek approval from Fashion House) J-Hope of BTS attends the Dior Homme Menswear Fall-Winter 2023-2024 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on January 20, 2023 in Paris, France. (Photo by Marc Piasecki/WireImage) J-Hope isn't letting 2025 pass without making sure everyone knows it's his year. The BTS superstar has been on a roll lately, and this week, he adds yet another win to his growing list of solo smashes. His brand new single 'Mona Lisa' debuts on the Hot 100, helping him make history yet again. As the track arrives, it adds to a recent hot streak that has seen the singer and rapper land on the chart almost monthly throughout this year. That consistent success is especially notable considering how long it's taken him to rack up even just a few wins on the most competitive songs ranking in the U.S. J-Hope returns to the Hot 100 this week with his latest release, 'Mona Lisa,' which opens at No. 65. This latest song marks his seventh time appearing on the list, which ranks the most-consumed songs in the U.S. across streaming, sales, and radio play. Seven Hot 100 hits is an impressive feat on its own, but what's even more incredible is how many of those smashes have come in just this year. Of J-Hope's total solo charting tracks, three have debuted in 2025 alone, including one in each of the past three months. He kicked things off with 'LV Bag,' a collaboration where he was credited as a featured artist. That tune, fronted by Don Toliver and Speedy, which also features Pharrell Williams, opened at No. 83. Not long after, he rose even higher with 'Sweet Dreams,' a duet with Miguel, which entered the Hot 100 at No. 66 before slipping off. Now 'Mona Lisa' has managed to beat 'Sweet Dreams' by just a single rung, becoming J-Hope's highest-debuting solo cut of the year so far. J-Hope first appeared on the Hot 100 all the way back in October 2019. He was joined by Becky G on 'Chicken Noodle Soup,' which reached No. 81. At the time, it was a groundbreaking moment, as very few K-pop soloists had ever landed on the tally. It wasn't until 2022 that he returned to the list with two tracks from his Jack in the Box album. 'More' and 'Arson' each spent a single week on the Hot 100, arriving at Nos. 82 and 96, respectively. Then, in March 2023, 'On the Street' with J. Cole debuted at No. 60, and that still stands as his highest-charting solo cut to date. J-Hope hasn't yet explained what this steady stream of releases is leading up to, but fans are hoping it's part of a bigger plan. While 'LV Bag' could easily be part of a future Toliver's project, both 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Mona Lisa' are credited to J-Hope as a lead act, and they may very well be part of a forthcoming EP or full-length…but for now, though, the South Korean powerhouse is keeping quiet.

Jisoo's Billboard Debut Is Something Of A Letdown
Jisoo's Amortage debuts at No. 11 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart, marking her first solo U.S. ... More chart entry — but missing the top 10 and the Billboard 200 entirely. PARIS, FRANCE - JANUARY 27: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY - For Non-Editorial use please seek approval from Fashion House) Jisoo attends the Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2025 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on January 27, 2025 in Paris, France. (Photo by Stephane Cardinale - Corbis/Corbis via Getty Images) Jisoo has been a global superstar for years as a member of Blackpink, one of the most successful girl groups in modern music history. While her bandmates all ventured into solo careers not long ago — and found plenty of success — she was the last to make the leap. When she did, it was with a quiet, understated release, and until now, that solo effort failed to make any real noise in the United States. That changes this week, as Jisoo finally reaches a Billboard chart on her own… but her performance is not quite as strong as some might have hoped. Jisoo's Amortage opens at No. 11 on the Top Album Sales chart. The Billboard tally ranks the bestselling albums, EPs, and other projects in the U.S. based entirely on pure purchases, meaning digital and physical sales. According to Luminate, the EP sold just under 7,000 copies in the most recent tracking frame. That figure is enough to put her on the one chart. Amortage does not appear on the Billboard 200, which ranks the most-consumed titles across formats, factoring in not just sales, but also streaming activity. That tally is usually considered the most important for albums in the U.S., and the Blackpink star misses out on earning a spot. Jisoo released Amortage on February 14, making it something of a Valentine's Day gift to fans. The EP didn't appear on any Billboard chart immediately following its drop. That appears to be largely because it wasn't made available in a physical format until recently. Without CDs or vinyl, an album or EP often struggles to make a commercial impact in America — especially when streaming numbers don't make up the difference. Amortage narrowly misses the top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, settling at No. 11. While that's a respectable start for many artists, it doesn't quite stack up compared to the achievements of her bandmates. Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa have all scored top 10 placements on the same tally with their respective solo projects. In fact, all of them launched their solo efforts inside the top three on the ranking. The performance of Amortage might be described as underwhelming, especially when viewed next to the solo successes of the other Blackpink members. Rosé's Rosie peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, thanks in large part to her Bruno Mars-assisted single 'Apt,' which remains a hit across a number of Billboard charts to this day. Lisa and Jennie both launched full-lengths in recent months as well. Alter Ego and Ruby, respectively, debuted and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. Jisoo, on the other hand, has yet to crack the Billboard 200 on her own. Whether that's due to a lack of promotion, an absence of a standout hit, or simply lesser interest in her solo work is uncertain, but it could be a combination of any of them, or perhaps all three. Perhaps she'll have better luck with a full-length album in the future.

J-Hope Makes History With Another Hot 100 Smash
J-Hope's "Sweet Dreams" debuts on the Hot 100 and three other Billboard charts, tying him with ... More Jimin, V, and Jennie for the second-most solo K-pop hits. (Photo by Stephane Cardinale - Corbis/Corbis via Getty Images) J-Hope has been steadily building an impressive solo career for years now, and his latest win shows just how far he's come. The BTS member has already shown that he can make it on his own — and now, he's once again climbing the charts in America. This week, he returns to the Hot 100 with a brand new track, and the single helps him move up on an important all-time list in the U.S. As his solo success continues, J-Hope lands among some familiar names, matching not just one, but three fellow K-pop superstars. J-Hope is back on the Hot 100 this week with "Sweet Dreams," his new collaboration with R&B artist Miguel. The track opens at No. 66, instantly giving the rapper and dancer another major solo hit. This latest debut brings his total number of solo appearances on the tally to six—a figure that's turned out to be especially meaningful. With that many Hot 100 placements to his credit, J-Hope ties several other South Korean solo stars for the second-most appearances in history. Earning half a dozen hits on the Hot 100 as a K-pop soloist puts J-Hope in elite company. He now sits in second place when looking at the most Hot 100 appearances by any musician from that genre who works on their own, matching three other massive names: his BTS bandmates Jimin and V, as well as Blackpink member Jennie. Jennie is also performing well on the Hot 100 this week, and her success is especially impressive. While J-Hope adds one new hit to his discography, Jennie earns a pair of placements thanks to her debut solo album. The Blackpink singer appears at No. 80 with "Handlebars," a duet with pop powerhouse Dua Lipa. She also debuts at No. 83 with "Like Jennie." She increases her total number of solo Hot 100 wins in one frame, jumping from four to six. As she does, she bypasses several other K-pop stars who were previously ahead of her, and catches up to J-Hope, Jimin, and V in one swift move. While J-Hope and Jennie now share the No. 2 spot on the list of the most successful K-pop soloists on the Hot 100, another BTS member remains in the lead. Jung Kook has now appeared on the ranking seven times with solo songs, putting him just one win ahead of the trio behind him. Of course, all of these artists originally rose to fame as part of larger groups, and those collectives still outperform their individual members when it comes to Hot 100 success. BTS has now placed 27 tracks on the tally, while Blackpink has claimed nine. "Sweet Dreams" doesn't just debut on the Hot 100 – it actually appears on four Billboard rankings this frame, showing that it's a true global hit. It may sit lowest on the main singles chart, but the collaboration reaches No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart. The track marks J-Hope's first time ruling that list, and it means "Sweet Dreams" is the bestselling song in America as it arrives. The cut also performs exceptionally well outside the U.S. On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., it launches at No. 12. On the Billboard Global 200, which includes data from every country, it starts at No. 16.
