Fearne Cotton stuns in retro-chic corduroy suits from Joanie

The vintage fashion queen is serving outfit inspo in Joanie's cord sets - and we're obsessed Ever since she graced our screens in the '90s as a children's TV presenter, Fearne Cotton has become a staple in British pop culture - not just as a broadcaster and author, but as a bona fida style icon. Known for her effortless blend of retro and modern styles, Fearne's wardrobe is a constant source of inspiration for vintage lovers everywhere. And recently, she served up double the fashion inspiration, stepping out in two bold corduroy suits from Joanie. Fearne wore the Jarvis cord suit in both teal and rust orange, proving that when it comes to fashion, more is more. Sold as separates, the tailored trousers (£69) and double-breasted blazer (£99) are crafted from soft organic cotton with added stretch for all-day comfort. The blazer features oversized buttons and a timeless shape, while the trousers offer flattering flared legs, belt loops and slant pockets. The star gave each suit its own unique twist. With the rust orange, Fearne added edge with a graphic tee and pointed black boots. For the teal suit, she kept the look fresh and playful with shiny green boots that added just the right amount of contrast. Get the look Prices start from £69 Joanie Buy Now on Joanie Product Description To channel Fearne's effortlessly cool aesthetic, pair the suit with a vintage band tee or bold printed top. Or keep it classic with a crisp white shirt underneath and add loafers or heeled boots for a polished weekday look. Don't be afraid to break up the suit, either. Try the trousers with a chunky knit or the blazer with a midi dress for a casual yet chic look. Accessories-wise, think oversized sunglasses, a slouchy leather tote or a printed scarf tied at the neck. For those who aren't fans of corduroy, there are plenty of other matching suits available. We love this striped River Island set, featuring a striped linen-blend waistcoat and matching trousers, available for £39 and £36, respectively. Otherwise, Nobody's Child has a gorgeous tailored suit range to explore. There are a wealth of colours to consider, from butter yellow to pastel pink, but we've got our eye on this timeless gingham print for a spring-ready outfit. Back to Joanie, there aren't many reviews online. But one person who bought the teal trousers said: "I love these trousers so much. It is so comfy and smart, and I love this teal colour. I bought a size 18. They're a good fit." However, another shopper with the rust orange trousers had a couple of issues: "Nice retro design but didn't suit me. I was hoping they would be a bit looser fitting in the legs. "The design is more 90s bootleg than 70s flare. I found them a bit too clingy and revealing around the bum - unfortunately, the design doesn't work without a thong, which I hate wearing. Fabric is nice, though." Still, with two colours to choose from and endless styling potential, this cord suit is a winner—and we've got Fearne to thank for the inspiration. The suits are available via Joanie here.

Fearne Cotton's injury that felt like 'a lit match' to her toe

TV star Fearne Cotton, 43, has avoided one common injury for her entire life—until yesterday Fearne Cotton told fans she suffered a painful but common injury for the first time yesterday. While the 43-year-old initially thought people were overreacting about its severity, she now realises just how wrong that was. "So somehow I have managed to walk around on planet Earth for 43 years without ever being stung by a wasp or a bee," she told her fans in an Instagram Story. "I'm not sure how, like, I remember my cousin, Jess, being stung multiple times in his back garden in Pinner back in the day. I somehow avoided it. Until today. I got stung by a wasp." The TV star explained that she accidentally trod on the wasp while barefoot. It stung her on the toe next to her little toe. ‌ She continued: "F*** me, it hurt. It was like someone had taken a lit match to my toe. It was so bad, and I now get it because before I thought, 'Are people being a bit dramatic?' ‌ "Oh my God, it really hurt, and yes, I am listening to Tracy Chapman, don't judge. Oh my god, it hurt, so I've ticked that off the old life list." Adding to her troubles, Fearne's beesting incident occurred just a week after she had a cartoonish fall while running. In a separate Instagram post, she admitted she felt completely 'overwhelmed', but a wonderful stranger came to her aid and shared a crucial piece of advice. "I just went on a run and I fell over," she said at the time. "I do not know how I fell over. I was running, and then one minute I was just on the floor. Sort of landed on my shoulder, it was like a proper cartoon fall. I've managed to also cut my knee like a sort of kid in the playground and I basically sort of fell into this poor woman who was just walking by." Despite the mishap, Fearne said this stranger took a moment to help. She continued: "She said, 'Sit on the wall, you are in shock.' And then she said, 'Just go home and have a cup of tea.' And I thought, 'Do you know what? Yeah. What the f*** am I doing?' "Like, all of you lot, I am overstretched, overwhelmed, overtired. And, there's so much out there about motivation, like, 'Push a bit harder, you should be doing more, get out of bed and do this and do that.' ‌ "And actually, I think most of us need the opposite. We are all so full to the brim, and we just need to go home and have a cup of tea." Although Fearne cut her leg, she confessed she was most upset about the big hole in her 'brand new leopard print Peloton leggings'." ‌ This honest revelation also comes just months after Fearne discovered two tumours in her jaw. Thankfully, these tumours were not cancerous, but their position near a nerve required them to be removed. In December, Fearne said: "I've got a benign tumour just in my jaw here, below my ear, another little tiny one above it. I'm very grateful they're benign, but they do need to come out because they're on a nerve. "So I'm gonna have that surgery, and then I'm gonna be resting to get better before Christmas. Not very good at resting, so wondering how that's gonna go. But I'm feeling OK about it. I'm going into the operation feeling good and well." Cleveland Clinic explains that benign tumors are clusters of abnormal cells that 'multiply more than they should and don't die'. Types of benign tumours include adenomas, fibroids, and lipomas, which can develop in various parts of the body. Typically, benign tumour growth goes unnoticed and rarely causes serious medical issues unless it presses against nearby tissues, organs, or, in Fearne's case, nerves.

Fearne Cotton reveals she felt 'lost' at the height of BBC Radio 1 fame

Fearne Cotton has opened up about falling into a depression and struggling with fame after leaving her Radio 1 job back in 2015, admitting she suffered an identity crisis Fearne Cotton says she almost gave up on showbusiness after failing to reach the flying success of presenting idols Ant and Dec - recalling how she struggled with fame and felt confused about what was next. The former Radio 1 presenter, w ho split from her husband Jesse Wood in December last year, admitted in a new episode of her Happy Place podcast to feeling 'lost' in her early thirties, despite having become a household name through her role as a TV presenter. ‌ She said, "I got to this point where I found myself just really not liking what I was doing, finding the feedback loop of being on the radio and in the public eye, excruciating. I started to inflate other people's view of me with what I knew to be true about myself. Which is dangerous, really dangerous." "I thought every negative thing said about me was true. I left radio and I just thought, 'What am I doing? What is the point of any of this?' "And I honestly thought at that point, 'Maybe I just quit everything because it's all too painful'. And I wrote a book called Happy, and that was the first time I really spoke about anything remotely real, because you can't really do on the radio," continued Fearne. "This is the first time where I said, 'Actually this is what's going on' rather than me just saying 'morning' and playing some happy music. It was like, actually, I'm going home and I'm crying and I don't know who I am anymore. I was in a real period of proper depression and on antidepressants". After writing her 2017 book Happy, Fearne says she began to come out of the depression and found a love for work again, having since expanded the book into a Happy Place lifestyle brand. ‌ It's not the first time Fearne has spoken about her battles with depression and mental health, often drawing on her own experiences when interviewing fellow celebrities on her podcast. Last year, Fearne split from her husband of ten years Jesse Wood, whom she shares children Rex and Honey with. ‌ While Fearne nor Jesse have shared why they ended their marriage, they did share a statement at the time which read: "It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been and always will be our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time." The break-up came five years after Fearne opened up about marital troubles they had faced in the past, writing in a column for Red Magazine at the time: "Love takes hard work - and no one wants to hear that. This year, Jesse and I hit a rough patch - he was away, touring relentlessly, [with his band, Reef]. "I was trying to keep my own career going while looking after our kids and we were both desperately clinging on to our marriage."

Speaking on the latest episode, which marked its seventh birthday, the tables were turned as Alex took over to interview Fearne about some of her greatest milestones over the years. One of the interviews which Fearne highlighted as being the most impactful on her was when she spoke to Björn Natthiko Lindeblad, who had lived as a monk and appeared on the Happy Place podcast when he had only a month left to live. Reflecting on the conversation and discussions around grief, Fearne recalled it as one of the 'most important chats' she had experienced in her life. When Alex asked Fearne 'Was he scared?' I'm scared of death every day of my life.' She later added: 'We lost one of our uni girls and they're my best friends, and we lost Maggie. 'And she was just hilarious. Her handbag was a lunchbox, you know, and she was just so funny. 'She worked in the newsroom in the shortest of mini skirts, she was just a character.' Discussing grief, Alex said: 'It's a very odd subject, I'm still terrified of it.' Fearne added, referring to the death of her close friend and the founder of the breast cancer awareness charity KoppaFeel! Kris Halleng: 'Sometimes, and I'm sure you feel like this about Maggie, sometimes I just think oh Kris, she's just in Cornwall. 'Then I'm like, oh my god, she's not and I can't get my head around it - where is she? I cannot get my head around it.' Alex agreed, noting: 'That's what I think', adding: 'They're somewhere.' Fearne continued: 'They're definitely somewhere. But it's so abstract, so surreal. We hadn't covered death, really on the podcast so I think that was quite confronting for a lot of people but I feel lucky we can chat about this stuff very openly.' Happy Place is Fearne Cotton's hugely successful podcast that started in 2018 as a space for honest conversations about mental health and everything that makes people human. Over the years, it has grown beyond a podcast as there are now live festivals, bestselling books, a publishing arm, and a marketplace, all carrying the same message. Talking on the latest episode of Fearne Cotton's popular podcast, 'Happy Place', The BBC One Show host has shared that she has never quite made peace with the sound of her own voice. The 48-year-old from Carmarthenshire, has spoken before about being told that her accent made her 'sound stupid', which she said in The Guardian was the "worst comment" she had ever received. She said, talking to Fearne: 'I rarely watch anything back or listen to anything back because, just my voice. ‌ 'How am I even on the television?' she cried with Fearne quickly throwing support behind the Welsh accent, saying: 'Because of that voice! The Welsh accent, it's lovely little sing-song dialect, what is not to love?' For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter But Alex responded: 'No! Disgusting', joking: 'I want yours!' Fearne firmly disagreed with Alex adding that she that she would like a 'voice swap' with the Ammanford, presenter to which the BBC presenter replied: 'We can't voice swap sadly, but we can listen back - now, do you listen back?' Alex was referring to the early days of Fearne's podcast as she quizzed her on the success of the Happy Place, which is celebrating its seventh birthday this week.
