Increased police presence in Stockton aims to curb dangerous driving
( — If you noticed more flashing lights and patrol cars around Stockton on Thursday, it wasn't a coincidence. Law enforcement agencies across the region joined forces with the Stockton Police Department in a citywide effort to reduce collisions and promote safer driving habits. The initiative, part of the Saturated Traffic Enforcement Program, brought more than 20 traffic officers from surrounding departments to target unsafe driving behaviors. Police said this effort isn't just about writing tickets. Lodi City Council appoints acting city manager 'Unsafe speeding, distracted driving, those go into the primary collision factors,' said Omer Edhah, spokesperson for the Stockton Police Department. Edhah says the campaign comes in response to growing concerns about road safety, including reckless driving, red light running, and sideshow activity. Residents like Chinadun Feaster say these issues are all too common. 'They are speeding, speeding. To the point where I'm like, come on now,' Feaster said. During just 30 minutes at the intersection of March Ln and Pacific Ave, FOX40 cameras captured more than a dozen drivers running red lights. 'That's normal,' Feaster said. 'I mean, everybody does it.' Emergency first responders said this behavior has real consequences. Brian Hijak, regional director for American Medical Response in San Joaquin County, says staff members follow a rule of thumb. Man gave teen girl vape pens, cash for sex, say Ceres police 'When the light turns red, wait three seconds- because when the light turns red, there's another vehicle that runs a red light,' Hijak said. 'It's a very somber feeling when I'm notified that a member of our team has been involved in any accident, for that matter, but especially red lights.' This year, Stockton Police has reported 5 fatal crashes, a drop from seven fatal crashes this time last year. With warmer weather and more people going out, officers also want to deter illegal street takeovers and sideshows. 'We want to send a strong message to the community that, for people who want to take part in these sideshows, Stockton's not the place to do it.' Officers emphasize that STEP's goal is not punishment, but rather prevention and getting drivers to make safer choices behind the wheel. Stockton Police say they're continuing to work with city officials to improve traffic safety and are encouraging residents to speak up and report any concerns in their neighborhood. 2026 5-star wide receiver receives predictions to land with Texas A&M
2026 5-star wide receiver receives predictions to land with Texas A&M Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko is on his way to changing the landscape of Texas A&M recruiting at several positions compared to his predecessor, Jimbo Fisher, especially at wide receiver. So far, Elko and his staff landed commitments from four-star wide receivers Aaron Gregory and Mike Brown, and are reportedly on the cusp of gaining a commitment from a potential gamechanger at the position. On Wednesday, Rivals recruiting insider Sam Spiegelman reported that Alabama and Texas A&M are now in the driver's seat to land 2026 five-star wide receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster, as LSU, who was previously the leader in his recruitment, is now considered out of the running. For most, this is surprising given LSU's legacy of landing, and developing NFL receivers, but in today's age of NIL-based deals, more programs have a shot at landing a prospect like Feaster. However, during the Kevin Sumlin days, Texas A&M's star receivers included Mike Evans, Josh Reynolds, and Christian Kirk, who have all gone on to have successful careers and sign multiple contracts, while Evans is on his way to the Hall of Fame. Before Feaster's official visit to College Station next month, he has already made his way to campus multiple times this spring. After releasing the new information surrounding Feaster's connection to Alabama and Texas A&M, Spiegelman, along with fellow insider Landyn Rosow have predicted the Aggies to land Feaster, who will announce his commitment on July 4. While things can change over the next month and a half, this is a great sign for the Aggies heading into the summer. Nation's No. 4 Wide Receiver Reveals Major Recruiting Update
With the college football season just around the corner, the spotlight continues to shine not just on the field, but also on the recruiting trail. Programs are working hard to finalize their 2025 recruiting classes, while simultaneously laying the groundwork for future success. Advertisement Among those efforts, the Class of 2026 is beginning to take shape, with top prospects making early commitments or narrowing down their choices. On Sunday, one of the most highly touted wide receivers in the Class of 2026 made an announcement that's sure to excite fans across the country. Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports reported the latest development: "Elite 2026 WR Boobie Feaster is down to 4 Schools" Ethan "Boobie" Feaster is ranked as a four-star prospect, listed as the No. 4 wide receiver and the No. 43 overall player in the nation, per On3. As a freshman, Feaster played a key role in leading DeSoto to the Texas 6A Division II state championship. That season, he recorded 634 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. His second season saw him take another leap forward, posting over 800 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. Known for his explosiveness and playmaking ability, Feaster is also a top-level track athlete, adding another layer to his elite athletic profile. Advertisement Notably, Feaster was originally part of the Class of 2027, but has reclassified to join the Class of 2026, accelerating his path to the collegiate level. While programs like the University of Utah and Texas Longhorns were heavily interested, they did not make the final cut. As July 4th approaches, the college football world will be watching closely to see which elite program lands Feaster's commitment. Given his athleticism and productivity, Boobie Feaster is set to make a major impact at the next level — wherever he chooses to go. Top Alabama 2026 wide receiver target narrows down finalists to four
Top Alabama 2026 wide receiver target narrows down finalists to four One of the Alabama Crimson Tide's top wide receiver targets in the 2026 recruiting class, Ethan "Boobie" Feaster has officially narrowed down his list of finalists to four, according to an announcement Sunday. Included in that list of finalists was Alabama, with the Crimson Tide joined by the LSU Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, and USC Trojans. Feaster has also set a commitment date of July 4 to announce his decision between the four. According to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Feaster is considered as the nation's No. 41 overall player in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 4 wide receiver in the cycle. A four-star prospect, Feaster is also considered as the No. 6 player in the state of Texas where he attends DeSoto High School. At the moment, Alabama's 2026 recruiting class sits at No. 34 nationally according to the 247Sports Team Rankings with only five commitments. Should he commit, Feaster would be the lone wide receiver in that group. Five recruits LSU football fans should know as the race for the No. 1 class heats up
Five recruits LSU football fans should know as the race for the No. 1 class heats up LSU football's 2026 recruiting class is the best in college football. The Tigers' class ranks No. 1 in the On3 Industry Team Rankings. The Tigers have nine commits, including seven four-stars and one five-star. LSU's average recruit has a rating of 92.48 -- only Alabama's recruiting class has a better average recruit rating. But LSU isn't done yet. We're about to enter the peak of recruiting season as the Summer approaches. Most recruits prefer to be early enrollees these days, which means top prospects want to have the process over and done with before their senior year of high school. Last year, most top prospects were off the board before September. 2026 could play out in a similar way. Brian Kelly and staff will add a handful of recruits to the 2026 class in the coming months. Here are five recruits LSU football fans should know as the race for the No. 1 college football recruiting class heats up. Four-star cornerback Havon Finney Finney is one of the top cornerbacks in the class. ESPN ranks the California prospect as a five-star while On3, 247Sports, and Rivals slot Finney as a four-star. The On3 Industry Rankings place Finney No. 6 at his position. Prying the four-star from Los Angeles could be tough, especially with the momentum USC has on the recruiting trail, but LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond has landed elite defensive back talent from California before. In 2020, California five-star Eli Ricks signed with LSU. Finney visited LSU multiple times this spring and the Tigers are in the thick of the race for the blue-chip corner. FIve-star lineman Lamar Brown Lamar Brown is a five-star and the No. 1 recruit in Louisiana. That makes Brown LSU's top priority. He remains on the board, but the On3 Prediction Machine gives the Tigers a 97% chance of landing Brown's services. Brown is a standout on the offensive and defensive line. It's unclear whether he'll play offense or defense at the next level. Recruiting sites project Brown as an offensive lineman, but earlier this year Brown said he wanted to play defensive line. Players with the size and athletic ability of Brown are in rare supply on both sides of the ball. Given Brown's recruiting ranking, adding Brown to LSU's class would bolster the Tigers' chances of finishing with the No. 1 overall class. Four-star wide receiver Boobie Feaster LSU's wide receiver class is already the best in the country. LSU has the No. 1 WR in the class, Tristen Keys, along with Jabari Mack, Kenny Darby, and Jakai Anderson. All four players are blue-chip recruits. It's getting crowded, but LSU can make room for a talent like Feaster. Feaster was originally one of the top players in the class of 2027 before reclassifying to 2026. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Feaster is the No. 4 WR in the class of 2026. Rivals and ESPN both rank Feaster top three at his position. Feaster is from Texas, and the Tigers have to battle Texas and Texas A&M, but the Tigers are in a good spot here. Five-star offensive linemen Immanuel Iheanacho Immanuel Iheanacho is the No. 2 overall recruit in the class. LSU hasn't been a huge player here, but Iheanacho took a visit to LSU last month and included LSU in his top seven schools. There's a chance here. Iheanacho hails from Baltimore, Maryland. Regional schools like Penn State and Maryland have been considered the front runners, but LSU can make a national push. Tigers' offensive line coach Brad Davis is one of the top recruiters in the country. Don't bet on LSU winning this one, but its worth monitoring if LSU begins to make a push this Summer. Three-star offensive lineman Donel Robinson Brad Davis has had success recruiting offensive linemen from Mississippi. Tyler Miller, one of LSU's top 2025 recruits, was a Mississippi native. Now, Davis and the Tigers are in a good position with three-star Mississippi OL Donel Robinson. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Robinson is the No. 41 ranked interior offensive lineman in the class and a top 500 overall recruit. Ole Miss is considered the favorite here, but don't count Davis and LSU out.
