UAFS aims to remove financial barriers with new program
FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith says it's removing a financial barrier for some prospective students.
The university says its Tuition and Mandatory Fee Guarantee ensures all eligible undergrad students' tuition and mandatory fees are covered.
To qualify, students must:
Be an Arkansas resident and high school graduate or GED recipient
Apply to UAFS as a degree-seeking undergraduate or be a current degree-seeking student
Receive a Federal Pell Grant
Receive the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship
University of Arkansas, UAFS among schools receiving combined $27M in HIRED program grants
Students are automatically considered for the program when they:
Complete the FAFSA to determine eligibility for federal aid, including the Pell Grant.
Submit the ADHE Scholarship Application, SAMS, to determine eligibility for the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship.
Are admitted to UAFS before the undergraduate admissions deadline.
The university says if you meet the requirements, the program will automatically be applied starting this fall.
