#SHOWBIZ: RM4.65mil debt: The worst and most serious experience with Fazura

KUALA LUMPUR: The founder and managing director of Obor Holding Sdn Bhd, Lim Boon Hai, 42, has expressed his disappointment, claiming that a company linked to popular actress and entrepreneur Nur Fazura Sharifuddin has failed to settle a debt of RM4.65 million. Lim, known as Sam, told Harian Metro that his company is pursuing legal action after Pink Fate Sdn Bhd allegedly failed to make the agreed-upon payments. "I am very disappointed with what she (Nur Fazura) has done. This is the worst and most serious experience I have ever been through," Sam said. "This case was filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court last month (April). Notices have also been sent to the company owned by the celebrity, but no response has been received," he added. Sam claimed that the debt has severely impacted the finances of his companies, Obor and Feline. "Since the end of 2023, it has been difficult to get debt payments from them. We have tried various ways to contact the party there (Fazura) but have not received good cooperation. "Our main goal is only to obtain the outstanding balance," he said. He further alleged that a RM1 million cheque signed by Fazura and dated Sept 3, 2024, had bounced due to insufficient funds. "My party received a cheque of RM1 million from that party that didn't clear. I really didn't expect this to happen. "We have informed them about this matter so that they can use other alternatives to make immediate payments, but it was not honored," he said. Sam clarified that the transactions occurred while Fazura was still a director at Pink Fate, before her resignation in January. Her brother, Ahmad Faiz Sharifuddin, remains a director. According to a previous report, Obor Holding Sdn Bhd, the owner of Feline Malaysia, claims that Pink Fate Sdn Bhd, purportedly co-founded by Fazura, was supplied with headscarves worth RM7,330,197.04 since June 2022. However, Pink Fate allegedly only paid RM2,680,167.90, leaving an outstanding balance of RM4.65 million. Obor Holding also alleges that they have faced difficulties in collecting the payment since December 2023. The suit names Pink Fate Sdn Bhd, Fazfit Sdn Bhd, Ahmad Faiz Sharifuddin, and Fazura as defendants. The statement of claim reportedly indicates that the RM4.65 million debt includes RM3.6 million from five additional orders made in June and September 2024, despite the previous debt remaining unpaid. The document also alleges that Faiz assured Feline that the additional order was for the Ministry of Education through the Merdeka Collection initiative.

Manufacturer Claims 'Tudung FAZURA' Company Owes RM4.65 Million

Subscribe to our FREE There's no denying that headscarves are one of the most in-demand clothing items in Malaysia. That's why it's no surprise the hijab industry has rapidly grown in recent years. However, behind this booming industry, a headscarf manufacturing factory claims it is facing financial difficulties. More shockingly, the manufacturer—Feline Malaysia—claims that these issues stem from a debt of nearly RM4.65 million owed by a company owned by popular actress and entrepreneur Nur Fazura Sharifuddin. Manufacturer Claims Company Owes RM4.65 Million According to a statement of claim we sighted, Obor Holding Sdn Bhd, owner of Feline Malaysia, alleges that Pink Fate Sdn Bhd—commonly known to be co-founded by Fazura—was supplied with headscarves worth RM7,330,197.04 since June 2022. However, Pink Fate has only paid RM2,680,167.90, leaving an outstanding balance of RM4.65 million owed to Feline. Obor Holding also claims it has faced increasing difficulty collecting payments since December 2023. Fazura and Her Brother Named as Defendants Besides Pink Fate as the first defendant, the legal document also names Fazfit Sdn Bhd as the second defendant, Fazura's brother Ahmad Faiz Sharifuddin as the third, and Fazura herself as the fourth defendant. The document further claims the RM4.65 million debt includes five additional orders made in June and September 2024 amounting to RM3.6 million, despite the previous debts remaining unpaid at that time. Additionally, the document states that Faiz assured Feline the extra orders were made for the Ministry of Education under the Merdeka Collection initiative. Our checks found that this program took place in July 2024, in collaboration between the Ministry and Tudung Fazura as part of the 67th Independence Day celebrations. The claim further states that to reassure Feline of the company's financial capacity, Faiz and Fazura mentioned they were receiving government payments from previous projects and had strong partnerships with reputable companies such as Boh Plantations Sdn Bhd (BOH), Hotel Movenpick, and the National Cancer Institute (IKN). Obor Holding further stated that when the additional orders were made, the celebrity and her brother clearly knew—or ought to have known—that the company was relying on their 'representations' and was 'induced to proceed with fulfilling the orders based on a legitimate expectation that payment would be received for the orders placed' by the Tudung Fazura company. Obor Holding claims that, due to the assurances given, the manufacturer proceeded to fulfill the additional orders, which were this time delivered to Fazfit Sdn Bhd—known publicly as the company behind Fazura Skincare products. Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain as no payments were received from any party. 'The outstanding amount was combined with the previous unpaid balance, making the total debt RM4,650,029.14,' the statement reads. Received Bounced Cheque Worth RM1 Million The statement adds that although Faiz later handed over a cheque co-signed with Fazura worth RM1 million on 3 September 2024, Obor Holding was unable to cash it—the cheque bounced, and they received a Return Cheque Advice notice from the bank. Obor Holding further clarified that all these transactions occurred while Fazura was still a director, before she stepped down from her role at Pink Fate in January 2025. However, her brother Faiz remains a director. When contacted, Obor Holding stated that it is in the process of filing a Judgment in Default against Pink Fate, as the deadline to respond has passed. We have reached out to Fazura for comments however as at press time, the celebrity, her brother Faiz, and her manager did not respond to TRP's queries that were sent via WhatsApp. Share your thoughts with us via TRP's . The Envy Awards honor tap dancing, Spartacus, and George Clooney and Brad Pitt

The weird, the wonderful, the what-the-heck? These are the elements of so many movies that rarely receive acknowledgement during awards season. Fortunately, the Envy Awards are held (in these pages) every year to honor all of those underappreciated moments. This season, we make sure to give special mention to a medal, a tap dance — and women who spend all of their screen time staring at men. Please enjoy the 2024-25 Envy Awards! Feline good award'A Quiet Place: Day One' The moment we see a fluffy cat named Frodo gathered up in the arms of terminal cancer patient Samira (Lupita Nyong'o), it seems hard to imagine that he's going to outlast his owner — or the picture. But Frodo is a master of appearing when needed and completely disappearing from the narrative when he's not, and he always ends up with the woman who saved his life. Spoiler alert: This cat lives, and that's what gives the 'Quiet Place' prequel so much of its humanity. Best performance by religious jewelrySt. Christopher medal The St. Christopher medal — representing the patron saint of travelers — dangles from more than one neck in films this season. Sported in both 'Blitz' and 'The Order,' the medal can be a quick shorthand not just to a character's faith but also their views of themselves (among the guilty and innocent alike). And in the case of 'Blitz,' it's also a family heirloom, handed down from Marcus (CJ Beckford) to Rita (Saoirse Ronan) to their son, George (Elliott Heffernan), that watches over the boy as he winds his way back home. Outstanding use of company headquarters'Babygirl' Watching movies at the HQ of the studio distributing it is nothing new to reviewers; however, watching 'Babygirl' at A24's Manhattan offices was a particularly jarring experience as apparently Romy's (Nicole Kidman) business is also located there. She's shown exiting the building and standing outside it for an extended beat in at least one scene, a funny, very specific kind of Easter egg for those paying attention. We see what you did there award'Gladiator II' If you're going full bore into swords-and-sandals shoutouts, you could do worse than summoning the ghost of a classic 'Spartacus' moment. In 'Gladiator II,' the gladiators' overseer demands to know which of his warriors shot a crossbow arrow at the Caesars in the stands — and the men all cover for Lucius (Paul Mescal) by claiming, 'I did it! I did it!' Kirk Douglas would be proud. Unexpected apocalyptic celebration choice awardTap dancing There are those who believe the world will end with trumpets signaling major cataclysms, but in both 'The End' and 'The Performance,' characters instead shuffle off to Buffalo and tap their little hearts out as the world crumbles around them. It's hard to resist Father (Michael Shannon) and Butler (Tim McInnerny) hoofin' it underground postapocalypse style in 'The End' or Harold (Jeremy Piven) and his troupe of tappers dancing for their lives in pre-World War II Germany in 'Performance.' Rarely has such mayhem been so sharply, poignantly choreographed. Women staring at men award'A Complete Unknown' Credit to the great comedy writer Merrill Markoe, who spelled out the two main issues with the inclusion of Pete Seeger's (Edward Norton) wife, Toshi (Eriko Hatsune), in her Substack article: No. 1, Toshi hardly says a word, just stares from offstage while the men make the music; and No. 2, Toshi — an 'Emmy Award-winning producer, director, political activist, documentarian and musicologist' was reduced to being 'some kind of DEI set decorating.' Should Toshi ever get her own much-deserved biopic, we look forward to the scenes where Pete stares lovingly at her from the shadows. For now, she gets Markoe's first-ever TOSHI Award. The bodies, bodies, bodies award'The Substance' From the suicide-by-head-hitting-table-repeatedly in 'Longlegs' to the human-faced xenomorph that emerges in 'Alien: Romulus' to Arthur's killer slicing up his own face at the end of 'Joker: Folie à Deux,' this was the year body horror went mainstream. But ultimately, we have to give an (extra?) hand to 'The Substance,' which continues to haunt our nightmares with the melding of two human bodies into the toothy horror of Monstro Elisasue. Now, can we get David Cronenberg to present the prize? Never too old for this award'Wolfs' It's astounding that Apple failed to realize that audiences will watch George Clooney and Brad Pitt read the phone book, so long as they do it together, and truncated 'Wolfs'' stay in theaters. Not only did the actors bring their Redford-Newman chemistry to a tale of bickering, competitive cleanup men, they also good-naturedly poked fun at the fact that both are now in their 60s. While no one in 'Wolfs' pulls out the hoary action movie cliché of 'I'm gettin' too old for this,' it's delightfully charming to see them acting like middle-aged guys who have back issues when they move dead bodies, or end up huffing and puffing while chasing a drug-fueled young troublemaker in his underpants through New York streets. Lean into it, guys! We sure did.
