#SHOWBIZ: RM4.65mil debt: The worst and most serious experience with Fazura
KUALA LUMPUR: The founder and managing director of Obor Holding Sdn Bhd, Lim Boon Hai, 42, has expressed his disappointment, claiming that a company linked to popular actress and entrepreneur Nur Fazura Sharifuddin has failed to settle a debt of RM4.65 million.
Lim, known as Sam, told Harian Metro that his company is pursuing legal action after Pink Fate Sdn Bhd allegedly failed to make the agreed-upon payments.
"I am very disappointed with what she (Nur Fazura) has done. This is the worst and most serious experience I have ever been through," Sam said.
"This case was filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court last month (April). Notices have also been sent to the company owned by the celebrity, but no response has been received," he added.
Sam claimed that the debt has severely impacted the finances of his companies, Obor and Feline.
"Since the end of 2023, it has been difficult to get debt payments from them. We have tried various ways to contact the party there (Fazura) but have not received good cooperation.
"Our main goal is only to obtain the outstanding balance," he said.
He further alleged that a RM1 million cheque signed by Fazura and dated Sept 3, 2024, had bounced due to insufficient funds.
"My party received a cheque of RM1 million from that party that didn't clear. I really didn't expect this to happen.
"We have informed them about this matter so that they can use other alternatives to make immediate payments, but it was not honored," he said.
Sam clarified that the transactions occurred while Fazura was still a director at Pink Fate, before her resignation in January.
Her brother, Ahmad Faiz Sharifuddin, remains a director.
According to a previous report, Obor Holding Sdn Bhd, the owner of Feline Malaysia, claims that Pink Fate Sdn Bhd, purportedly co-founded by Fazura, was supplied with headscarves worth RM7,330,197.04 since June 2022.
However, Pink Fate allegedly only paid RM2,680,167.90, leaving an outstanding balance of RM4.65 million. Obor Holding also alleges that they have faced difficulties in collecting the payment since December 2023.
The suit names Pink Fate Sdn Bhd, Fazfit Sdn Bhd, Ahmad Faiz Sharifuddin, and Fazura as defendants.
The statement of claim reportedly indicates that the RM4.65 million debt includes RM3.6 million from five additional orders made in June and September 2024, despite the previous debt remaining unpaid.
The document also alleges that Faiz assured Feline that the additional order was for the Ministry of Education through the Merdeka Collection initiative.

Mutiara Line LRT issues resolved, work starts soon
GEORGE TOWN: All outstanding issues between the federal government and the Penang government regarding the Mutiara Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) have been resolved amicably. Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said he had chaired the meeting with Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow at his ministry in Putrajaya last month and resolved outstanding issues, including the release letter from the state government. 'Physical work will begin shortly, in one or two months. So we ask them (the state government) to ensure there is a traffic diversion plan when piling work and construction begins to ensure the project doesn't have a negative impact on road congestion,' he said during a media conference after ending his one-day working visit to Penang today. On Rapid Penang On-Demand service by Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus), he said that the service, which began in phases from August 2024, was running smoothly with 50 vans covering 13 zones in Penang - seven on the island and six in Seberang Perai. 'The average daily users stand at 1,944 people, with an average of 39 passengers per van daily and an average travel time of 16 minutes and a waiting time of 19 minutes,' he said. He added that there were 150 additional drivers to handle the vans to ensure smooth operations and that passengers would enjoy a fare of RM1 per trip.

Capital A in the final stages of PN17 exit plan
KUALA LUMPUR: Capital A Bhd is in the final stage of its regularisation plan to exit the Practice Note 17 (PN17) status, with only 15 to 20 per cent of the process remaining, expected to be completed the latest by end of July 2025, said its chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes. "Building an airline was very tough, getting out of PN17 is tougher. We are on the last 15 to 20 per cent, I can see the finish line. "I think it is an exciting time for Capital A. We just have to cross that PN17 barrier, which I think we are almost there. It is out of my control, but I think our latest target is end of July," he told Bernama today. Capital A fell into Bursa Malaysia's PN17 category of financially distressed entities in January 2022. Fernandes said the group is working through a few final tasks before concluding its PN17 exit plan -- among them is to finalised the proposed disposal of its entire 100 per cent stake in AirAsia Aviation Group Ltd (AAAGL) and AirAsia Bhd (AAB) to AirAsia X Bhd (AAX). AAAGL operates passenger airline services through subsidiaries in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Cambodia. "Our plan requires three more things to be completed. First, the Thai Stock Exchange (SET) has to agree (on the proposed disposal) -- we have a backup plan if we cannot get it agreed, but I am confident we can get it agreed. "Second, we need five consent letters from our creditors and we already have four, and third is the RM1 billion of equity, which we have," he said. Fernandes added that once the proposed disposal of AirAsia's aviation business is completed, the group will seek court confirmation for its capital reduction plan. Meanwhile, commenting on Capital A's plan for potential listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX), Fernandes said its board of directors has given approval and is very serious about pursuing the proposals. He also reaffirmed the group's intention to list its brand management arm, ABC International, on the Nasdaq in the United States. "Once we get out of PN17, two things i can say, one is the Hong Kong listing and two, we will go back to listing the ABC International, which was formerly known as Capital A International in America," he noted. - Bernama
