'Early days' to judge Wolves' transfer activity
There has been a fair amount of talk on social media about Wolves' transfer window, with some fans already feeling anxious about a lack of action. It is early days though, and I think there are some positives as well as plenty of time left for the club to make the right departures of key players are a worry. Replacing talent and leadership will not be easy, and it is vital the club gets these decisions right. While I would prefer most signings to be completed in time for Vitor Pereira to work with them in pre-season, it is more important to focus on making the right additions rather than rushing into risky in-house changes have caught my attention too. With the arrival of technical director Domenico Teti, perhaps Pereira will take on more responsibility for transfers, working more like a traditional manager than the modern head coach. The involvement of Jorge Mendes' agency Gestifute and Valdir Cardoso could also be key. This all suggests the club is setting up for a significant summer in the transfer far, Fer Lopez is the only signing. He seems a great prospect with impressive stats, though he lacks top-level experience. The good news is he will get a full pre-season with Pereira and chance to settle stand out as a need. Hugo Bueno impressed on loan at Feyenoord and will probably claim a starting spot, but Wolves need more depth and strong competition on both flanks. Nelson Semedo's contract situation adds another question mark, and a replacement for him may be front, more changes seem likely. Both Goncalo Guedes and Hwang Hee-chan could move on, opening doors for fresh attacking options. Pereira wants players with pace and the ability to win one on ones, so new arrivals should fit this the club's financial year restarting on Tuesday, 1 July, I expect transfer activity to ramp up. There is a lot of work ahead, but I am hopeful we will soon see some thoughtful, well-planned more from Dazzling Dave at Always Wolves, external
