Speeding Ferrari driver pleads with cops not to tow his car before calling mom to pick him
A whining Ferrari driver pleaded with Canadian cops to let him off the hook for speeding before calling his mom when the luxury car got towed. In footage of the comical encounter shared by York Regional Police on August 5, a white Ferrari driver is heard begging to be spared a Stunt Driving charge after being pulled over in Aurora, Ontario. He pulled out all the stops - relentlessly pleading and telling the officer it was his birthday - but his desperate efforts were unsuccessful. The bizarre story began when the cop approached the car and calmly said, 'I'm sure you're aware why I pulled you over.' Immediately, the speeding driver acted clueless: 'What'd I do?' After the officer explained he had been driving 130 kilometers per hour, which is about 70 miles per hour, the driver quickly became defensive. 'Speeding? I'm on my way to my birthday party. I haven't driven the Ferrari for a while,' he said as he rambled off excuses. The pair started going back and forth, as the man behind the wheel insisted he was not going that fast. Trying to diffuse the situation without backing down, the officer offered to show him the speed radar, proving he was truly going over the limit. As the birthday boy exited the sports car to check out the radar, he let out an exaggerated groan. 'That's me?' he asked upon reviewing his high speed driving. He then once again pivoted to the birthday argument, hoping it would stick this time. 'Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do,' the policeman bluntly replied. The driver's discontent was only amplified once he realized he was getting more than a ticket. Once the officer informed him he was getting hit with a Stunt Driving offense - which includes using excessive speeds, dangerous maneuvers or racing - he pouted even more. He took a drawn-out gasp before ramping up his begging: ''I'm on my way to my birthday party, please officer! Please! 'I got to have my mother and father come to pick me up.' As he was forced to accept defeat and forfeit his high-end vehicle, he made a phone call to his mom from the side of the road. 'Mom! You have to come pick me up, the police pulled me over,' he said. At the end of the clip, which appears to be from last year, the police department playfully wrote: 'Even if you're going to your birthday party, there is no excuse for Stunt Driving.' The driver faced a 30-day license suspension, a two-week vehicle impound and fines. The video was humorously captured: 'Do you think this guy's parents still let him have cake and open presents?' While speeding is a serious offense, viewers found the ordeal absolutely hilarious, commenting on the driver's unexpected reaction. 'Grown man crying "officerrrrrr,"' one man wrote. 'My condolences to the officer having to listen to adult Caillou….' another chimed in. 'The guy sounds like a whiny 8 year old,' someone said with a laughing face emoji. 'Pwiddy pweeze Mr officer. I won't do it again. Waaaaaa,' one user said, mocking the driver's dramatic tone. 'C'mon this can't be real,' someone wrote in disbelief. Officer, please, please officer, please just give me the ticket, I beg you,' the driver pleaded with the officer, as his vehicle is about to be towed away.
