Set for completion within a year, the second facility is to strengthen its Southeast Asian footprint for faster delivery, enhanced customer service, and greater innovation for global markets across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, bringing the company's total Malaysian investment to RM1.9 billion. The new Kulim Factory #2 will span nearly 1 million square feet across 20 acres and feature over 700 CNC machines, smart production lines, IoT-enabled systems, and predictive maintenance capabilities – embodying Industry 4.0 principles. It is expected to create over 1,000 high-value jobs, enhancing Ferrotec's precision manufacturing capacity for semiconductor components. KUALA LUMPUR: Ferrotec Holdings Corporation, a global supplier of materials, components and precision system solutions, has launched its second high-tech manufacturing facility in Kulim, Kedah, with an investment of nearly RM1 billion (US$226 million). Ferrotec's second Kulim facility will span nearly one million square feet across 8.09 hectares, housing more than 700 computer numerical control (CNC) machines, smart production lines, internet of things-enabled systems and predictive maintenance capabilities - in line with Industry 4.0 standards. Scheduled for completion within a year, the facility is expected to generate over 1,000 high-value jobs and significantly enhance Ferrotec's precision manufacturing capacity for semiconductor components. Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) chief executive officer Datuk Sikh Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid said Ferrotec's continued expansion underscores Malaysia's standing as a premier destination for high-tech investment in the semiconductor sector. "This commitment not only reflects investor confidence in our policies, infrastructure, and talent but also reinforces our ambition to become a regional leader in advanced manufacturing.
