ITV The Chase fans cringe over contestant's awkward slip up on Prince Harry question
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info ITV viewers were quick to spot one contender's blunder in the latest episode of The Chase. Friday's show saw Gill from Huntingdon, Edward from Nottingham, Aiden from South Shields, and Rushelle, originally from Leicester, all step up in the hopes of landing a cash prize and outsmarting The Chaser. They faced off with Shaun Wallace, known as the Dark Destroyer. Following successful rounds for Gill and Edward, it was Aiden's turn to take on Shaun and inch closer to bagging some winnings. Despite his team's confidence in him, he chose to stay with £6,000, rejecting a higher offer. Aiden also reached the Final Chase, but stumbled on a penultimate question concerning Meghan Markle and Prince Harry that confused those watching from home. The question was about Meghan's Suits character Rachel Zane, the role she played from 2011 to 2018, surprisingly asking who the character married in real life. (Image: (Image: ITV)) The possible answers included Elon Musk, George Clooney, and Prince Harry, reports the Express. Aiden incorrectly guessed George Clooney, only to recognise his error during a chat with Bradley. Shaun, on the other hand, knew to pick Prince Harry and noted that Harry and Meghan got married in May 2018. Social media users did not hold back their criticism towards Aiden for the incorrect answer. One viewer remarked: "He couldn't remember Ginge and Cringe If only they weren't so publicity shy #thechase." Another viewer drew a cheeky comparison, commenting: "Prince Harry/George Clooney = same thing... #TheChase." (Image: (Image: Getty)) Yet another joined the conversation with a jab at the Sussexes: "#TheChase Harry and Meghan. The only couple who went abroad to invade their own privacy." In the gripping Final Chase segment, the trio of contestants managed a mere 12 correct answers. Their efforts were in vain as chaser Shaun Wallace swiftly closed the gap, prompting host Bradley Walsh to remark that they had fallen short of the necessary 18 or 19 points. Despite the lacklustre performance, Shaun didn't hold back on his sportsmanship, commendably noting, "They were a bit unlucky with their questions. But at the end of the day, it was just another day at the office." The Chase is on ITV1 weekdays at 5pm and on ITVX

ITV The Chase fans call on Shaun Wallace to quit ITV show after 'fix' in the final round
The Chase fans watched as Shaun Wallace went up against four players in the latest edition of the ITV gameshow, but some were left unimpressed Viewers of The Chase were less than thrilled with quiz maestro Shaun Wallace's performance during Friday's show. On ITV, four plucky contestants faced the Dark Destroyer, notorious for being a tough opponent in the quiz show arena. But fans cried foul after the competitors emerged victorious, sparking allegations of a fix. One viewer vented on social media: "Shaun frequently throws a Final Chase, don't you?" Another remarked: "Can't believe that. Really seems fixed. Chaser loses to 12 and the question what astrology sign has the letter V in it, has him stumped. Really? Couldn't make it up." A third suggested it might be time for the chaser to hang up his boots: "Shaun being Shaun ... time to retire." Despite the upset, some fans were willing to cut Shaun some slack. Someone pointed out: "Every Chaser and quizzer has their 'Brain Fart Days' .... they're not bulletproof. Shaun's biggest brain fart happened on ' Virgo '." In the episode in question, despite each of the players – Safia, Gareth, Sarah and Wayne – getting caught in their individual turns, one had to step up for the final showdown with Shaun. Safia took the lead with hopes of winning £4,000, meaning each would pocket £1,000 upon victory, reports the Express. With two minutes on the clock and a one-step advantage, she managed to correctly answer 11 questions, setting a final target of 12 for Shaun to surpass. Before Shaun had his turn, he gave Safia a round of applause for her strong performance, praising two of her "superb" answers. In the final chase segment, Safia managed to stump Shaun six times with questions he didn't know the answers to, pushing him back five times. Yet, it was the last question that really tripped up the Chaser and led viewers at home to suggest he might have thrown the game on purpose. Host Bradley Walsh posed the question: "What zodiac sign contains the letter V?" Unable to hear viewer's shouts from their sofas, given that this was a rerun, Shaun appeared perplexed as he struggled to recall the zodiac signs. Skipping the question, it bounced back to Safia who quickly responded with Virgo, the correct answer. As Shaun ran out of time, the team were overjoyed with their £4,000 win, equating to £1,000 each to take home. Bradley remarked: "You've beaten a mastermind champion by the way! So well played." To which Shaun admitted: "I played five of these, Lazarus, and that's the first time I've lost. That's why I take nothing for granted in this game." Astonished, Bradley concluded: "What a show, some brilliant answers, some brilliant head-to-heads." The Chase is on ITV1 weekdays at 5pm and on ITVX

The Chase fans accuse Shaun Wallace of 'fix' after he loses to 'easy' question
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The Chase fans were left underwhelmed by quiz master Shaun Wallace, also known as the Dark Destroyer, as four contestants squared off against him during Friday's episode of the popular ITV show. Disgruntled viewers took to social media to express their suspicions of a fixed game after the team emerged victorious. On platform X, criticisms flooded in, with one user posting: "Shaun frequently throws a Final Chase, don't you?" Another chimed in saying: "Can't believe that. Really seems fixed. Chaser loses to 12 and the question what astrology sign has the letter V in it, has him stumped. Really? Couldn't make it up." A third remarked: "Shaun being Shaun ... time to retire." (Image: ITV) However, not all viewers jumped to judgment, with some offering support for Shaun. A comment read: "Every Chaser and quizzer has their 'Brain Fart Days' .... they're not bulletproof. Shaun's biggest brain fart happened on 'Virgo'." In the episode, despite each contestant – Safia, Gareth, Sarah, and Wayne – being caught out during their individual rounds, the group nominated Safia to step up and take on the final challenge. Playing for a total prize of £4,000, she had to face Shaun solo and aimed to secure £1,000 each if successful, reports the Express. Safia managed an impressive feat by answering 11 questions correctly within two minutes, with a one-step advantage, setting a final target of 12 for Shaun to beat. Before Shaun took his turn on The Chase, he praised contestant Safia for her impressive performance and lauded two of her "superb" responses. In an intense final chase, Safia managed to push Shaun back five times out of six efforts due to his struggle with the answers. (Image: (Image: ITV)) The real twist came with the last question that not only stumped Shaun but also had viewers at home speculating about him throwing the game. The pivotal moment unfolded as host Bradley Walsh quizzed: "What zodiac sign contains the letter V?" With the repeat show disconnecting competitors from viewers' reactions, Shaun was momentarily baffled, unable to recall the zodiac signs quickly enough. Passing the question, it bounced back to Safia, who promptly responded with 'Virgo'—the correct answer. Time ran out for the Chaser, leading the triumphant team to split the £4,000 prize pot, taking home £1,000 each. Bradley couldn't hide his excitement as he exclaimed: "You've beaten a mastermind champion by the way! So well played." Reflecting on his unusual defeat, Shaun remarked: "I played five of these, Lazarus, and that's the first time I've lost. That's why I take nothing for granted in this game." Visibly astounded, Bradley concluded: "What a show, some brilliant answers, some brilliant head-to-heads." The Chase is on ITV1 weekdays at 5pm and on ITVX
