Richard Ashcroft set list for Oasis shows at Wembley

Oasis are reviving the Britpop era with shows at Wembley this weekend — and there couldn't be a more fitting support act than Richard Ashcroft. Having broken into the music scene during a similar period, Ashcroft has formed a special bond with the Gallagher brothers after The Verve supported them back in 1993. Ashcroft isn't the only support act. The second support act are 90s band Cast, led by former La's bassist John Power. The group, which first appeared on the music scene in 1992 and is well-known for songs like Walkaway, Finetime, and Flying, supported Liam on his Definitely Maybe 30 Years tour last year. Cast will go on first, before Ashcroft warms up the crowd ready for Oasis's entrance. Where is Richard Ashcroft from? Ashcroft was born in 1974 and grew up in Wigan, Lancashire. The Verve and career as a solo artist The singer and guitarist is one of the founding members of the Britpop band The Verve. He formed the band with Peter Salisbury in 1990. After a brief split in 1995 the band came back stronger in 1997, with the release of the hugely successful album, Urban Hymns, which quickly rocketed to fame with the album's lead single Bitter Sweet Symphony. In 2000, Ashcroft went solo and released single A Song For The Lovers. The song peaked at number three in the UK chart. What time is Richard Ashcroft on stage at Wembley? Ashcroft is anticipated to get on the Wembley stage at 7pm, with a set lasting approximately 45 minutes. Gates will open at 5pm for all of Oasis' shows at Wembley Stadium. The first support act Cast is set to come on at 6pm. After Ashcroft's set, Oasis will take the stage at 8:15pm.
