LIVE: Minnesota wildfire updates as evacuation orders expand

A serious situation is unfolding in northern Minnesota, where multiple wildfires have sprung up during tinderbox-dry conditions, and an increasing number of residents are now subject to evacuation orders as the blaze consumes properties. Authorities in St. Louis County are responding to: The Camphouse Fire near Brimson (1,250 acres) The Jenkins Creek Fire near Fairbanks (1,500 acres) Munger Shaw Fire near Cotton (1,300 acres) You can find details of evacuation zones in St. Louis County here, and Lake County here. We'll be providing regular updates as the fires spread. Click refresh for the latest updates: An update has been provided on the Jenkins Creek Fire near Fairbanks, with the U.S. Forest Service saying it is now 1,500 acres in size and "actively burning." Without an update on the size of the Camphouse Fire, this means Jenkins Creek is currently the largest wildfire ongoing in the state. "Aircraft including 2 Fire Boss single engine water scooping planes and 2 CL-415 super scooper planes along with helicopters have been dropping water on this fire in an effort to slow its spread and protect private property," the forest service says. In an ominous warning, the forest service adds: "Relative humidity levels did not increase much last night and might not increase much tonight either which will result in active overnight fire behavior."
