Kawartha Lakes wildfires: One blaze now ‘under control,' another is ‘being held.' Here's what that means
Wildfire conditions in the Kawartha Lakes region further improved on Friday, with one of the two ongoing blazes being upgraded to an 'under control' status.
Haliburton 19, a 27-hectare fire in the Burnt River area, is now under control, the province's ministry of natural resources reported, while Fire Region One, a 33.5-hectare fire in the Kirkfield area, is considered 'being held.'
