Firehouse Subs awards major grant to Creola Volunteer Fire Department
CREOLA, Ala. (WKRG) — The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has awarded over $37,000 to the Creola Volunteer Fire Department.

According to a news release, the money, which totals $37,873, will be used to purchase new extrication equipment, including a spreader, cutter and ram.
The new equipment will allow members of CVFD to rescue people who become trapped during vehicle crashes and building collapses.
The FSPSF was founded in 2005 as a non-profit to 'provide lifesaving equipment, prevention education, scholarships, continued education and disaster relief for first responders and public safety organizations.'

Members of CVFD will unveil the grant and the equipment at the Firehouse Subs location in Saraland on Wednesday, May 7 at 10 a.m.
