Bournemouth fish and chip restaurant selling meals for 7p
HARRY Ramsden's will be selling fish and chips for just 7p to celebrate its new retro-inspired menu. The fish and chip restaurant chain, which was founded in West Yorkshire in 1928, will be hosting the event at its Bournemouth site on Saturday, May 24. The one-day event will allow customers to purchase fish and chips at the original 1928 price of 7p, and will be available exclusively for takeaway. The event will also celebrate the relaunch of Harry Ramsden's original beef dripping fish and chips, which gave the brand its worldwide fame. A separate pan will be kept for customers who prefer an alternative to beef dripping. The Bournemouth restaurant will also be launching a new retro-inspired menu, featuring interpretations of classic dishes, as well as a heritage-inspired cocktail list. Inside the restaurant, guests can take photos in a classic photo booth in collaboration with Joe & Seph's. Customers who share their photos will have the chance to win a bundle of popcorn-themed prizes. A new sweet and beach shop will also open, selling traditional confectionery and exclusive Harry Ramsden's merchandise. To encourage diners to explore the full menu, anyone who redeems the 7p offer and signs up for the loyalty programme will receive 20 per cent off and a free dessert on their next visit to the restaurant, valid for one month. A spokesperson for Harry Ramsden's said: "The event is a tribute to Harry Ramsden's remarkable story. "Founded in 1928 in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, what began as a modest hut quickly became a symbol of British hospitality and culinary tradition." "Nearly a century later, that spirit is being reignited." Only 1,928 portions of the 7p fish and chips will be available, so customers are encouraged to arrive early.
