Security forces killed at least 14 terrorists in a 'sanitisation' operation near the Sambaza area of Zhob district on the night of August 8 and 9, the military said in a statement on Saturday According to the military's media wing, weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from those killed. The statement added that security forces remain committed to safeguarding the country's frontiers and thwarting attempts to undermine peace, stability and progress. The action followed earlier engagements in the same area on August 7 and 8, in which 33 terrorists were killed, bringing the total to 47 in two days of counter-terrorism operations. ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed at least 33 Indian-sponsored militants attempting to infiltrate Pakistan from Afghanistan in the early hours of Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. According to the military's media wing, the movement of a large group of militants- described as belonging to the Indian proxy network 'Fitna al Khwaraj' - was detected in the Sambaza area of Zhob District, Balochistan, during the night between August 7 and 8. Security forces kill 54 terrorists infiltrating through Pakistan-Afghanistan border Troops engaged the infiltrators in a 'precise, bold and skillful' operation, thwarting their attempt to cross the border. In April, security forces said they killed 54 militants in two days during operations near Hassan Khel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, part of Azm-e-Istehkam, a 2024 campaign of combat operations and socio-economic measures fighting militancy. Since 2017, Pakistan has bolstered the Durand Line—a 2,600-kilometer frontier with Afghanistan—with fencing, watchtowers, and surveillance systems to deter infiltration and smuggling, though cross-border raids persist.
