Chrissie Swan reveals the 'hell' of being publicly weighed as a child and the devastating effect it had on her self-image

Chrissie Swan has opened up about her childhood, revealing a devastating truth behind her weight struggles as a kid. The media personality, 51, appeared on Nova 96.9's Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, where the hosts discussed Turkey's new introduction of randomised public weigh-ins in order to decrease obesity. The policy will allow health officers to stop locals at random and weigh them in public places such as trains, busses and events. Chrissie was horrified by the latest legislation and dubbed it 'fresh hell' before revealing her own trauma. 'This is coming from someone whose first public weighing was at 10 years old at a Weight Watchers meeting,' she candidly shared. 'I had to get up in front of Joy and Pam, who had little badges, and say, "Oh yeah, I've put on point four kilos."' Chrissie was weighed in front of people every week as part of the program and would queue up to get weighed on scales, where her weight would be recorded by a member of staff. The public experience, Chrissie says, added to the pressure she felt trying to lose weight while also navigating her teenage years. Chrissie recently revealed just how far she's come on her weight loss journey with some remarkable throwback photos. The TV host took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a series of images that were taken 20 years ago, back in 2005. The photos showed Chrissie, then 31-years-old, just two years after her runner-up turn on season three of Big Brother. One image showed a much fuller-faced Chrissie, smiling as she posed in the passenger seat of a car. The other, taken around the same time, showed Chrissie posing with 'bestie' Rebecca Thompson. The throwback photos serve to highlight Chrissie's remarkable weight loss journey, with the radio host losing a reported 90 kilograms in the past three years 'I was a baby,' the Nova radio star captioned the first image. 'A cute little juicy baby with layers and foils. Happy to see the love of the giant hoop earrings started early,' she added. The throwback photos serve to highlight Chrissie's remarkable weight loss journey, with the radio host losing a reported 90 kilograms in the past three years. She has drastically transformed her physique, citing a new diet, daily walks and sobriety as the secret behind her slimdown. After dropping a reported 90kg since the start of lockdowns, she briefly touched on her weight loss in an interview with The Australian Women's Weekly in 2022. She said the 'enormous' lifestyle changes she'd made over the previous 12 months had improved her life in so many ways. 'I'm not going to talk about the size of my a***,' she said. 'I'm not going to tell you what I eat in a day. Because I've read those stories and they make me feel bad about myself.' However, she did confirm Melbourne's lengthy Covid lockdown was the catalyst for her health and fitness kick. 'We couldn't go out to dinner, we couldn't go to a friend's house, they couldn't come to us, we couldn't go outside five kilometres,' she said. 'All we could do was walk, and so that's what I did.'

Guy Sebastian makes raunchy OnlyFans confession live on-air as he reveals if he's joining the adult site

Guy Sebastian has revealed he is not opposed to starting an OnlyFans account considering the unstable reality of working in the music industry. The multiple ARIA award-winning star, 43, was a guest on Nova 96.9's Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Wednesday morning, where he retold the story of a boating mishap that saw him embarrass himself in front of a beach filled with people. The dad-of-two took his son Hudson, lovingly referred to as Huddy, fishing on his tinny down the South Coast over Easter weekend when he hit some unexpected waves. This resulted in the motor turning at an extreme angle and causing the boat to do donuts, flinging Guy into the ocean. 'I tried to jump on a couple of times but then I'm worried that the motor and the propeller is going to hit me and cut me,' he shared, all while the boat was sailing in circles. 'So I'm trying to stay out of the way of the motor cutting me, doing these little swimming away, then swimming in, trying to get on.' Eventually, Guy managed to board the donuting boat and hit the kill switch when he suddenly realised that his embarrassing error had not gone unnoticed. 'I've looked back and I'm probably only 20 metres from the beach on a packed Easter and people are pissing themselves,' he said, and the studio erupted in laughter. Host Wippa then joked that he would pay to see Guy's hilarious boating incident. 'If Guy Sebastian started an OnlyFans page for content that hasn't been released and that was filmed, I'd pay $4.95 for that, that would be fantastic to see,' he told listeners as the others laughed. Guy, laughing along, quipped back that he'd keep an open mind about future possibilities on the platform. 'I'm not ruling it out...' he joked. 'It's a very up and down industry. 'You never know what you'll resort to in the bottom of the valley!' he added. It comes after Guy revealed a major management shake-up on the cusp of dropping his new single. The Battle Scars hitmaker has parted ways with his long-time manager Jennifer Fontaine, in favour of his own in-house management team. Fontaine had guided Sebastian's career since his acrimonious split with former manager Titus Day back in 2017. Speaking to News Corp, the former Australian Idol star said the pair remain friends and that an internal management team was always on the agenda for Sebastian. 'The thing with Jen is she knew I always wanted to have my own internal team and I wanted to be at the table on everything. It wasn't such a huge shock,' Sebastian said. 'She was there at a pretty vulnerable time for me and however this rolls out, I wanted us to remain great friends afterwards.' Sebastian and Fontaine released a joint statement about the decoupling to industry insiders back in February. 'To say we have kicked goals is a total understatement,' Fontaine wrote.
