Boca Raton one of 12 new Florida golf locations for indoor golf simulator Five Iron Golf
BOCA RATON — Indoor golf simulator Five Iron Golf is coming to Boca Raton, the company announced in January after signing a deal to bring 12 new locations to Florida. The agreement "advances the brand's mission to deliver state-of-the-art golf technology alongside dynamic sports bars, nightlife, and event experiences to communities nationwide," according to a press release. The deal was signed by two franchisees who currently operate Five Iron Golf's Louisville location. "Bringing Five Iron Golf to Florida is an incredible opportunity to introduce a concept that combines cutting-edge golf technology with an unmatched social and entertainment experience," Peter McCormick, one of the franchisees, said. An indoor space for golfers and non-golfers alike to train, practice or just play. Visitors can reserve a simulator, book a swing lesson or get custom club fittings. Before expanding nationwide — and internationally, in Australia, Singapore and India — Five Iron Golf started in New York City. Its name comes from its first location, on Fifth Avenue in the Flatiron District. Aside from single simulator rentals, Five Iron Golf offers individual and group lessons, swing evaluations and membership, which varies in price by city. Guests can join leagues, too, which compete in teams of four over a course of seven weeks. Locations offer flexible event spaces, a full-service bar, locally-crafted food menus, table games like ping pong and shuffleboard, and widescreen TVs. During the next several years, Five Iron Golf is expected to expand into key Florida markets, including Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, Coconut Grove and St. Petersburg. Its Miami flagship location is expected to open in late 2025. "We've seen firsthand the impact this brand can have in creating vibrant community hubs, and we're excited to replicate that success up and down Florida," McCormick, said.
