Warner Theatre presents new Beatles themed multimedia show
A revolution of sorts is coming to the Warner Theatre this weekend as the music of The Beatles takes over the stage. Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, Beatles fans of all ages can enjoy a multimedia experience at the Warner with rare photos, videos, animations and of course, the music by the Beatles you know and love. Leaving their mark — Inked Comedy makes return during Flagship City Comedy Festival Vocalists and a rock band will be accompanied by the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra. Leaving their mark — Inked Comedy makes return during Flagship City Comedy Festival
The last day of the Flagship Comedy Festival left its mark on comedians in a special way. Guests filled the 1020 Collective to watch local and national comedy acts take the stage. Flagship City Comedy Festival's weekend performers left patrons in stitches 'Inked Comedy' is a unique comedy experience featuring comics getting a tattoo live during their set. The act was a festival favorite in 2024 and continued to keep both comics and audiences on the edge of their seat. Band Together Erie, Kellar's Comedy Club team up for autism friendly open mic night The founder of this event, Anthony Morelli, said the idea came to him while getting a tattoo. 'It happened here at 1020 Collective with Less Hess, who owns Andromeda Studios, during the 40 under 40 party, 2022. I was fortunate enough to be honored with that, and they were doing live tattoos here, to a less tattooed me. I was making her laugh while she was tattooing me, and that's when the lightbulb came on,' said Morelli. The final Flagship Comedy event took place Sunday evening, featuring headliner Ben Roy. Flagship City Comedy Festival's weekend performers left patrons in stitches
The third year of the Flagship City Comedy Festival continued over the weekend. Guests filled the seats at the 1020 Collective in downtown Erie to watch local and national comedy acts take the stage. Shelter animals strut their stuff at Erie Humane Society's fourth annual Mutt Gala The festival, which started in 2022, hosts multiple shows across several days at various locations around the city. Saturday night's headliner has made appearances on multiple major network television shows and shared his way of finding inspiration for his comedy routine. Polish Falcons of America's 85th annual bowling tournament makes return to Erie 'Tragedy is usually my inspiration for comedy, I would say it's pretty personal,' said Shane Torres, a comedian.'I would say the best part of traveling and doing comedy is actually being on stage. Local kids learn all about agriculture at North East's annual Community Agra Fun Day
Kids in North East got to learn all about farming on Saturday. The Erie County Farm Bureau and the North East Community Fair hosted its annual Community Agra Fun Day at the North East High School. Shelter animals strut their stuff at Erie Humane Society's fourth annual Mutt Gala There were 30 different stations for the children to learn hands-on about different aspects of agriculture. Some of the highlights were the baby goats, free trees and plants and various food tastings. Flagship City Comedy Festival's weekend performers left patrons in stitches 'We need to teach agriculture to the community, and if we fail, that's our fault as adults and as educators. Okay. Children need to know where their food comes from and what better way to do than put us all together… Come with mom and dad, brother and sister, or you can try a lot of the product,' said Nick Mobilia, with the Erie County Farm Bureau. The Flagship City Comedy Festival begins Wednesday night, and the founder said it's back and bigger than ever. The festival includes 11 comedy shows over five days, where both local and national comedians will be taking the stage. Oliver's Beer Garden set to reopen Thursday Headliners include Dwight Simmons, Brandie Posey, Shane Torres and Ben Roy. The performances will be at different venues around town, starting with Werner Books & Coffee. Donations currently being collected for Sarah's Great Giveaway 'It's a collection of comics that are from all over the nation. So there's a great diversity of comics, but it also showcases some of our great small local businesses like Hazards Mini Golf, that's a late night show that we have this year, where it's 'Comic Against Humanity' style of showcase, and then my personal favorite is the Inked Comedy, where we get tattooed during our set,' said Anthony Morelli, founder of the Flagship City Comedy Festival.
