So Edmonton: Riverhawks unveil green onion cake jerseys

If you love green onion cakes and home runs, you should go to the baseball game on Saturday.
The Green Onion Cakes – sorry, the Edmonton Riverhawks – will wear, well, green onion cake alternate jerseys.
'Inspired by local legend Siu, the Green Onion Cake Man, this delicious new alternate identity celebrates a dish that's as uniquely Edmonton as the Riverhawks themselves,' the team wrote online.
'From festival food tents and farmers' markets to Siu's iconic restaurant on 118th Avenue, green onion cakes have held a special place in the hearts of Edmontonian's for decades. Now, they're stepping up to the plate at RE/MAX Field too.'
The jerseys will make their debut on Saturday, and of course, green onion cakes, like the food, will also be available.
This weekend, the Riverhawks will also sell a green onion cake t-shirt made by Flannel Foxes, a local clothing company.
The baseball team wore Talus Balls jerseys in 2023 and Silver City Dragons jerseys last year.
