Netflix confirms TV series based on hit game downloaded by 4 BILLION players as telly fans promised ‘epic battles'

The showrunner is set to be Fletcher Moules, who directed existing Clash of Clans animated videos, and has also worked on Entergalactic and Agent Elvis. He'll be joined by executive producer Ron Weiner, credited as working on Silicon Valley, 30 Rock, Futurama, and Arrested Development. "Clash has been a global gaming phenomenon for over a decade," said Netflix animation boss John Derderian. ‘Clash of Clans' Animated Series Ordered at Netflix
A 'Clash of Clans' animated series has been greenlit at Netflix, Variety has learned. The untitled series is said to follow 'a determined, but in over his head, Barbarian who must rally a band of misfits to defend their village and navigate the comically absurd politics of war.' The show is said to be set in the world of Supercell's 'Clash of Clans' and 'Clash Royale.' Pre-production is now underway. This is the latest animated series order for Netflix in the past few weeks. Previously, the streamer announced the adult animated comedy 'Mating Season.' That show hails from the same team behind 'Big Mouth,' with the latter series prepping its eighth and final season. Other Netflix animated shows in the works include 'Long Story Short' from 'BoJack Horseman' creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg and others from the 'BoJack' team. 'Long Story Short' recently set its main cast, which includes Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, and Nicole Byer. The show will drop on Netflix on Aug. 22. Developer Supercell is partnering with Netflix for an animated series based on the world of its games Clash of Clans and Clash Royale . Fletcher Moules, who directed the original Clash of Clans animated videos on YouTube, will be the showrunner for the Netflix project and Ron Weiner, who has worked on Silicon Valley , 30 Rock , Futurama and Arrested Development , will be the head writer. Clash of Clans debuted in 2012 and the casual strategy game got a deck battler sequel in Clash Royale , which launched in 2016. According to the show announcement, the pair of games have more than 4 billion downloads and more than 180 billion gameplay hours logged by players. The Netflix show will center on the Barbarian character from this game universe as he tries to "rally a band of misfits to defend their village and navigate the comically absurd politics of war."
