New inductees announced for the 2025 Saints Hall of Fame Class Here are the newest Saints Hall of Fame inductees, Class of 2025.
The New Orleans Saints announced their inductees for the Saints Hall of Fame Class of 2025 on Wednesday. Two new members will join the prestigious franchise Hall of Fame, and two others received awards. Steve Gleason has received the Saints Hall of Fame Courage Award, the first this has ever been awarded. Additionally, Ed Daniels was named as this year's recipient of the Fleur de Lis award.
Two will also enter the Saints Hall of Fame as players. Defensive backs Tracy Porter and Brett Maxie will join the other 59 players, coaches, or front office contributors in the Saints Hall of Fame.
Brett Maxie
Undrafted out of Texas Southern University in 1985, Maxie was signed and made the New Orleans roster as an undrafted rookie. He'd go on to play the first nine of his 13-year NFL career with New Orleans from 1985 to 1993. Over those nine seasons, Maxie recorded 15 interceptions and returned three for touchdowns. A safety on the famed Dome Patrol defensive units, Maxie was a ball hawk in the secondary and is tied for eighth in franchise history for career interceptions. Maxie is just the fifth safety to be inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame and the first since Roman Harper in 2020.
Tracy Porter
Porter is most famously known for the 74-yard interception return for a touchdown that clinched the Saints' Super Bowl XLIV win over the Indianapolis Colts. Remember that Porter also intercepted Vikings quarterback Brett Favre in the 2010 NFC Championship Game, sending that contest into overtime to set up the Saints' Super Bowl trip.
A second-round choice by the Saints out of Indiana in the 2008 NFL Draft, Porter spent the first four of his nine-year NFL career with New Orleans. In addition to his postseason heroics, Porter recorded seven interceptions during the regular season. This included four interceptions with one touchdown return during the 2009 championship season.
