Doha-bound JAL flight returns to Haneda after Qatar closes airspace

Qatar temporarily closed its airspace over its capital Doha on Monday due to Iran's missile attack on a US base in the country. Air traffic was disrupted, with a Doha-bound Japan Airlines flight diverted back to Tokyo. JAL Flight 59 made a U-turn near China after leaving Haneda Airport on Monday night. The plane was back at Haneda on Tuesday morning. None of its 171 passengers complained of ill health. A 45-year-old passenger on a business trip to Georgia was due to make a stopover in Doha. He said he knew the situation in the Middle East was bad, but did not expect things would happen on the day of his flight. The man said the captain explained that since the airspace over Doha was closed, the plane was returning to Haneda to put safety first. He said there was no confusion among the passengers.
