The Jurassic Park islands and dinos are coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Jurassic World: Archipelago is a new expansion pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 that lets aspiring pilots explore the five islands of the fictional Cinco Muertes Archipelago featured in the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies. Created by Australian developer Orbx that's known for its flight sim add-ons, the expansion lets you visit many locations from the films while the islands will be teeming with more than 10 different species of dinosaurs. According to an FAQ on Orbx Studios' website, the Jurassic World: Archipelago expansion is an official collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences and will be available sometime in late August or early September, 2025. It will initially launch for all versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Xbox and PC, but is compatible with the entry-level Standard Edition which is also available through Xbox Game Pass. The studio says it's also 'working towards making compatible products for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and X-Plane 12.' The expansion lets you visit the five new islands — including Isla Nublar, Sorna, Matanceros, Peña, and Tacaño — as they were before the events of 2015's Jurassic World 'when the park is operational but not everything is under control.' You'll be able to fly over Isla Nublar and see the park alive with activity, while the breeding facilities on Isla Sorna, as seen in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, remain abandoned and overgrown. Jurassic World: Archipelago includes new flying challenges like transporting VIPs between the islands and nearby Costa Rica and conducting guided tours. You can visit the facilities and theme park structures seen in the various films and land at recognizable airfields and helipads, all while dodging the local wildlife that includes brachiosaurus, stegosaurus, velociraptor, and flying pteranodons. Mimoh Chakraborty recalls playing games with Shah Rukh Khan during Kuch Kuch Hota Hai shoot, talks about bond with Salman Khan: ‘I am very fortunate…'
Actor Mimoh Chakraborty's movie career has not been very fruitful so far. Since his debut film, Mimoh has, unfortunately, not been able to catapult himself into the stardom that many aspire to. However, he is content with his journey, having been fortunate enough to be guided by superstars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, among others. During a recent appearance on SCREEN's 'Dear Me…', Mimoh recalled his fond memories with the two Bollywood icons. Like other kids from a film lineage, Mimoh Chakraborty also shared his views on nepotism and recalled the advice Abhishek Bachchan once gave him. Talking about how he dealt with negativity after Jimmy (2008) didn't do well, Mimoh said, 'I remember meeting Abhishek Bachchan during my dull phase; he has also gone through all of this. He eventually became such a big star with his charisma and fights. He said, 'No matter what the world tells you, never stop believing in yourself and fight back.' I remember that even today. Everything I read about me was a stepping stone to something else.' 'Salman bhai is a very loving man; he and my dad (veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty) have been very close. Their friendship is something I look up to; Dad and Bhai have been the best of friends. The same love he has given me as well. Whenever I want to talk to him, he is always there. I am very fortunate to get that love and attention from him. Not just him, even Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Arjun Rampal… they all have done this for me. I have been very fortunate to meet these amazing people, and whenever I have met them, they have always guided me to do something better in life. It is very rare to have this; our industry is very cut-throat and competitive. When you meet superstars like these who are willing to advise you for your betterment, I feel very fortunate.' Mimoh said. He also recalled the first time he met Salman Khan and said, 'Salman bhai has always gone out of his way to do something for me. I love him for that. I remember in Ooty, he had come for shooting and was sitting with that. He was wearing a white t-shirt and a bandana; the aura he had was 'my god!' He was sitting in Dad's office when I was introduced. I was a kid back then and had this Polaroid camera. So I asked Dad to click my picture with him, and the next day I showed that photo to everybody in my school.' He said, 'Even with SRK… they were shooting for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and staying in our Monarch Hotel. Imagine King Khan coming to our room! He was sitting with Dad, and then he opened my PC to play Flight Simulator with me and my brother Rimo. Both of us were looking at each other and thinking, 'King Khan was sitting with us!' He was so nice.' Commenting on the popular belief that star kids get opportunities very easily, Mimoh Chakraborty gave his take on nepotism. He said, 'It's not true. Why is nepotism given such a bad reputation? We are attracted to this world we have been exposed to since we were kids. We just know people. I know Salman Khan, SRK, and other great people, but they don't owe me anything. They love my father, but they don't owe my father anything, nor does he. There is a familiarity, but that's it. I can go to Salman bhai and ask him how he is doing, but nothing beyond that. I don't use the word 'star kid' because I feel it's like a curse word for us. People from the film lineage will be given the opportunity, but in the end, it is always the hard work, the mantle, your talent, your thirst and hunger, and above all, your destiny. I am the poster boy of anti-nepotism, and I am very proud of it. But having said that, everyone deserves an opportunity.' Turkish Airlines Expands Simulator Orders with HAVELSAN
In line with its ongoing efforts to further strengthen its pilot training infrastructure, Turkish Airlines has placed an additional order for one Boeing 737 MAX Full Flight Simulator (FFS) from HAVELSAN to be delivered in January 2026. This new order, placed as part of the long-standing cooperation with HAVELSAN, demonstrates the national flag carrier's commitment to expanding its simulator fleet and enhancing its technological capabilities. This additional order stands as a concrete testament to Turkish Airlines' confidence in HAVELSAN and in domestically developed advanced technologies. Commenting on the new order, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, Prof Ahmet Bolat, stated: 'This additional order reinforces our strategic collaboration with HAVELSAN, reflecting our ongoing commitment to providing world-class pilot training. By expanding our simulators with advanced and reliable technology, we ensure our pilots continue to deliver the exceptional safety and service standards that Turkish Airlines is renowned for.' HAVELSAN CEO Dr Mehmet Akif Nacar added: 'We are pleased to strengthen our partnership once again with Turkish Airlines through a new agreement for a third B737 MAX Full Flight Simulator. This continued trust from one of the world's leading airlines is a strong affirmation of our capabilities and commitment to excellence.' Under the agreement signed with HAVELSAN in 2018, Turkish Airlines originally planned to procure a total of eleven training devices consisting of three A320neo/ceo, two B737 MAX Full Flight Simulators (FFS) and six Flight Training Devices (FTD). As of today, Turkish Airlines successfully operates two B737 MAX, two A320neo/ceo simulators and one B737NG, which is the first procured simulator, produced by HAVELSAN, all certified to EASA Level D standards. In addition, the delivery of the last A320neo/ceo simulator as part of the previous agreement is scheduled in November 2025. The new order of B737 MAX FFS will be the seventh Full Flight Simulator in airline's fleet. Turkish Airlines remains committed to providing its pilots with top-level training opportunities through an advanced simulation infrastructure fully compliant with international civil aviation standards.
