Tommy had been missing from screens since April 10 as he took a week off work to spend time with his wife and kids during the Easter break.
Back and better than ever, the dad-of-two poked fun at Muireann one of the segments this morning.
The pair sat down with journalist Sinead O'Carroll to speak about a new research that shows women can sniff out new friends.
Sinead explained: "This was a friendship formation study done by Cornell University in New York. Scientists decided to capture what they call the diplomatic odour.

"So the odour you have because of all the choices you have made in your day. So instead of your natural odour, like what you smell like when you wake up, it's like, the things that you do in your life.
"And then that women judge each other on what this smell is and can decide pretty quickly whether this is going to mean a friendship."
Sinead asked Muireann what she smells like and the Limerick native replied: "I'm just trying to think, we've got a girl date on Thursday.
"So I'm like, 'What are we, what is the smell?'. You just... you smell of smart, she smells of smart."

He had everyone on set in stitches laughing as Muireann shouted out: "You are such a pup."

When Tommy was asked what male smells he likes, Muireann cut across him and gave a shout out to his very own fragrance.
She said: "Flow by Bowe, if you smell Flow By Bowe you're fine."
'IT'S SCIENCE'
Tommy added: "Everyone will be friends with you then."
Sinead remarked: "Advertising Standards of Ireland onto you."
Muireann responded saying: "It's science, Ireland AM science."
Tommy didn't let the holiday blues get to him as he was all smiles while arriving on set to the Virgin Media studios this morning.
Muireann took a video of herself reuniting with Tommy and shouted out: "Look who joined us again!"
Tommy added" "I'm back... [it's] nice to be back."
Muireann, laughing, asked: "Is it, really?"
Tommy replied: "Of course it is, yes. Good morning everybody!"
