Riverbed announced the launch of its new AI-powered intelligent network observability solutions, featuring the high-performance Riverbed xx90 appliance series. These solutions significantly enhance network visibility for enterprise IT teams and enable them to proactively identify and resolve problems in real-time before they escalate into business challenges.
The new solutions will add value to the Riverbed Platform and build on strong market momentum. Riverbed reported a 92% year-over-year growth in observability bookings in the first half of 2025. This launch marks a new era of intelligent network observability amid growing enterprise complexity and demands for seamless digital experiences.
Riverbed revealed the rollout of the xx90 appliance series for its AppResponse, NetProfiler, and Flow Gateway network observability offerings. The xx90 systems deliver up to three times the performance of previous generations at the same price. Customers can now access these solutions through Riverbed Flex Subscription. This offers license deployment flexibility across hardware, virtual, or cloud instances without extra software costs.
Dave Donatelli, CEO of Riverbed, said the launch highlights the company's relentless pace of innovation. He noted the new xx90 systems bring higher performance and efficiency. The software also advances network performance monitoring and enterprise observability, integrated with Riverbed IQ for AI-driven insights. Donatelli added that the solutions streamline toolsets, unify network management, and automate operations.
The Intelligent Network Observability Essentials bundle is available with the purchase of AppResponse or NetProfiler. It includes: Riverbed IQ, an AI SaaS that accelerates issue resolution without extra infrastructure

The Flex licensing model provides greater architectural freedom, license portability, predictable OPEX pricing, and lower total cost of ownership. It allows IT teams to re-allocate licenses across hardware, virtual, or cloud deployments and supports future growth without repurchasing software.
The xx90 appliances are built for scale, speed, and precision in distributed enterprise networks. AppResponse 11.21 on xx90 supports real-time triage of encrypted IPSec ESP traffic and sustained packet capture over 50 Gbps. NetProfiler 10.29 and Flow Gateway offer faster reporting and analysis, dynamic Flow Load Balancing, and full Versa SD-WAN support.
