Sulaymaniyah ( – A loud explosion rocked the city of Sulaymaniyah on Tuesday evening (July 1, 2025), caused by two drones that were reportedly shot down over the area, according to official and security sources.
The Kurdistan Region's Security Agency confirmed in a statement that two drones had crashed in the Tasluja area of Sulaymaniyah and that no human casualties were reported. Specialized security teams were immediately dispatched to the site to launch an investigation.
A security source provided further details, stating that the two unidentified drones were intercepted and shot down by Peshmerga 'Force 70' units. According to the source, one drone fell in the Tasluja area while the other crashed near a Force 70 headquarters.
