Lewis Hamilton opens up about 'complicated' love life
Formula F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, is opening up about his "complicated" love life. Hamilton is one of the few bachelors in F1, and over the years, he has been romantically linked to several women in music and entertainment but has not confirmed any of those romances. In an interview with French publication RTBF, the Ferrari driver has since shifted gears when it comes to romance.
'Yes, it's very complicated, especially in today's world," Hamilton explains. 'I see other drivers and I wonder how they manage it. Some have children, are married, have girlfriends.
The seven-time Formula One champion has been romantically linked to Nicole Scherzinger, Rihanna, Sofia Richie-Grainge, and more.
'I went through that when I was in my twenties. I've made a different choice: I've decided to maximise the time I have here because it's shorter than you think," he continued.'I don't want to have any regrets, or think that I could have given more.'
As of now, Hamilton wants to focus on making the most of his career, and he is doing just that. He made history in 2007 as the first and is currently the only Black driver in F1, and is working to promote diversity in the sport. He also holds the record for the most Grand Prix wins with 105. Hamilton shared with the publication that when he decides to retire, he will most likely have more time to focus on other aspects of his life.
'Over the last ten years, I've concentrated on my performance. And when I retire, I'll be able to do what I want," he said. 'I'll be able to devote myself to other things without constraints."
Hamilton continued: "As long as I'm competing, I'm concentrating on my health, my well-being, my mental health, and my driving technique."
'I want to be the best engineer I can be and the best teammate too," he concluded. "That's my main objective: I want to win.'
Who has Lewis Hamilton been romantically linked to?
Hamilton's longest public relationship was with singer and actress Nicole Scherzinger from 2007-2015. Since then, he's been romantically linked to Gigi Hadid, Rihanna, Kendall Jenner, and Rita Ora, but those relationships were never confirmed by either party. Between 2016 and 2017, Hamilton was seen on various occasions with supermodel Winnie Harlow, but they never confirmed their romance either. He's also been linked to Nicki Minaj, Sofia Richie-Grainge, and Shakira, but just like the others, a relationship was never confirmed by Hamilton or the ladies.
This year, romance rumors began to swirl between him and Grammy-nominated singer RAYE after the singer posted a photo of them embracing in an Instagram photo dump. It is solidified if they have a romance.
Lewis Hamilton wants to win the title with Ferrari
While Hamilton's love life is seemingly on pause until further notice, the race car driver is focusing on fulfilling his dream with Ferrari.
'My dream is to win a title with Ferrari. It's been a long time since that happened," Hamilton says, as the last time Ferrari won the Formula 1 World Championship was back in 2007 with Kimi Räikkönen.
'Ferrari has all the ingredients to win, you just have to put it all together," he added. "That's what I'm trying to do behind the scenes with Fred Vasseur and the team.'
