Full Speed Ahead: Bahrain Steps up Consumer Protection During F1

As international visitors flock to Bahrain for the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has ramped up inspection campaigns across local markets to safeguard consumer rights. Abdulaziz Al Ashraaf, Assistant Undersecretary for Control and Resources at the Ministry, confirmed intensified inspections at shops and commercial outlets throughout the Kingdom during the F1 weekend. 'These campaigns are part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that businesses comply with laws and regulations, especially during peak seasons,' Al Ashraaf said. He added that the focus is on monitoring sales practices, verifying the transparency of offers and discounts, and ensuring prices are clearly displayed. Legal action will be taken against any violations to maintain a fair and secure commercial environment. Al Ashraaf also noted that inspections would continue both before and during the race days to enhance service quality, reinforce confidence in local markets, and present a positive image of Bahrain to global visitors. The Ministry urged citizens, residents, and tourists to report any violations by calling 80001700, emailing Inspection@ using the Tawasul platform, or messaging via WhatsApp on 17111225.
