There is no official countdown in-game from Epic Games, but YouTuber Logo Blocks is currently sharing a countdown that is set to end at 11pm PDT on Thursday, May 1, and 2am EDT / 7am BST on Friday, May 2, which is half an hour after the expected Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 end time. The countdown won't yet run until the official arrival of the season as Fortnite is still yet to reveal how long it expects downtime to last, but as per our estimations when we explored the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 start time, we can expect the season itself to launch around 3.30am PDT / 6.30am EDT / 11.30am BST on Friday, May 2. A mystery bug struck Fortnite this morning, leaving players unable to join games from inside its launcher and creating a huge wave of frustration. Epic Games confirmed this morning that Fortnite is experiencing a major outage. Players on all platforms can't access the game's online matchmaking and, therefore, can't play the game, and it's pretty bad timing. The battle royale title is set to undergo some major downtime in a few days when the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 end time comes around, but as players aim to get their last games in before the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 release date arrives, it seems they're simply unable right now.
