Founders Metals Expands Upper Antino; Hits 33.0 m of 3.50 g/t Gold
Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - May 21, 2025) - Founders Metals Inc. (TSXV: FDR) (OTCQX: FDMIF) (FSE: 9DL0) ('Founders' or the 'Company') announces drill core assay results from the Antino Gold Project ('Antino' or 'Project') in southeastern Suriname (Figure 1). The Company reports high-grade gold mineralization at Upper Antino including 33.0 metres (m) of 3.50 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) in drilling east of the Main Froyo Shear ('Froyo'). Additional drilling results extend gold mineralization north 125 m, increasing total strike length of Froyo to ~1.7 kilometres (Figure 2). Drilling Highlights Colin Padget, President & CEO, commented, 'These results clearly demonstrate Upper Antino's growth potential in multiple directions. Gold mineralization continues eastward over substantial intervals while our step-out drilling has successfully expanded the northern boundary by 125 metres. The two broad intervals in hole FR114 align well with our mineralization and structural models and suggest there is potential to 'connect-the-dots' between Froyo and Donut. Additionally, while we have seen some increases in assay turnaround times and have been focusing on certain corporate items, we anticipate releasing additional results from our earlier-stage exploration targets along-side a comprehensive overview in the coming weeks.' Drilling continues to expand Upper Antino gold mineralization and Figure 4 provides a 12-month snapshot showing the growth of the mineralized footprint over that time. In this release, drill hole FR114 intersecting 33.0 m of 3.50 g/t Au, is one of several holes planned to target further eastward growth of Froyo gold mineralization and determine if additional parallel zones link Froyo with the Donut target. Drillhole FR101 intercepted two distinct zones of mineralization with the shallower 22.50 m interval of 0.5 g/t Au beginning at 27.60 m and potentially a new shear as the deeper 12 m of 1.51 g/t Au aligns well with the previously reported 8.0 m of 2.08 g/t Au in hole FR095. These are encouraging intercepts indicating additional northward potential and drill holes are planned further north to continue testing these structures. About Founders Metals Inc. Founders Metals is a Canadian-based exploration company focused on advancing the Antino Gold Project located in Suriname, South America, in the heart of the Guiana Shield. Antino is 20,000 hectares and has produced over 500,000 ounces of gold from surface and alluvial mining to date 1. The Company is fully financed for up to 60,000 metres of drilling in 2025. 1 2022 Technical Report - Antino Project; Suriname, South America. K. Raffle, BSc, P. Samples are crushed to 75% passing 2.35 mm screen, riffle split (700 g) and pulverized to 85% passing 88 µm. Samples were analyzed using a 50 g fire assay (50 g aliquot) with an Atomic Absorption (AA) finish. For samples that return assay values over 5.0 grams per tonne (g/t), another cut was taken from the original pulp and fire assayed with a gravimetric finish. Founders Metals inserts blanks and certified reference standards in the sample sequence for quality control. External QA-QC checks are performed at ALS Global Laboratories (Geochemistry Division) in Lima, Peru (an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited facility). A secure chain of custody is maintained in transporting and storing of all samples. Drill intervals with visible gold are assayed using metallic screening. Rock chip samples from outcrop/bedrock are selective by nature and may not be representative of the mineralization hosted on the project. Trump's election power grab
President Donald Trump's latest attempt to expand his power is the executive order he issued this week demanding that states crack down on noncitizen voting by requiring voters to provide proof of citizenship. In this, he is attempting to exercise authority he does not have and, in the process, imperiling Americans' voting rights. His order addresses no pressing problem in America. Voting experts have routinely demonstrated that illegal voting by noncitizens is exceedingly rare. An audit of Georgia's voter rolls last year, for instance, found only 20 noncitizens among the state's 8 million voters. Trump also wants to grant federal agencies access to state voter databases to ensure that noncitizens have been removed from the rolls. And he is demanding that states using mail-in voting reject ballots that arrive after Election Day. In other words, the 18 states that accept ballots postmarked by Election Day should change their laws or risk losing federal election funds. But note that the Constitution explicitly tasks state legislatures with regulating the 'time, place and manner' of elections and empowers Congress to change these laws if necessary. The president is allowed no unilateral role in the process. The Founders' decentralized design has proved an asset to U.S. democracy. Local control of elections means that voters have maximum influence over how their ballots are counted. It also guards against national election interference by nefarious actors; no one person or entity controls how voters elect their leaders, so it is all but impossible to corrupt the American system. Nevertheless, Trump apparently believes he can pressure states to meet his demands by threatening to withhold federal funds via the Election Assistance Commission. This is a body that Congress established in 2002 to distribute grants to states to improve election administration. But the four-person commission was designed as an independent entity. The president cannot dictate its decisions; he has the power only to appoint its members (though no more than two appointees can come from the same party). To allow Trump's executive order to stand, courts would have to defy the Founders' wisdom and invest in one person an enormous amount of control over U.S. elections. To be sure, Trump is correct that noncitizens should not vote in U.S. elections. Although a handful of jurisdictions, including the District of Columbia, have in recent years attempted to expand voting rights in local elections to noncitizens, the idea is misguided. The Constitution does not expressly prohibit noncitizen voting, but allowing it would both dilute Americans' power to determine their own future and discourage immigrants from following the naturalization process in order to vote. New York state's highest court was correct to rule last week against New York City's attempt to enfranchise more than 800,000 noncitizens in municipal elections. But noncitizen voting has not been a problem in federal elections. For decades, people who register to vote have had to sign a statement swearing they are citizens. Any noncitizen who misrepresents his or her status risks prosecution and deportation. This has been an effective deterrent to illegal voting, as the vanishingly small number of such cases attests. Burdening citizens with proving their eligibility would accomplish little good yet make it significantly more difficult for Americans to vote. Many people lack easy access to documents proving citizenship, such as a passport or another government-issued photo ID that indicates a person's citizenship status. (Notably, in his order, Trump excluded birth certificates as qualifying documents.) Only about half the U.S. population has a passport, and just a handful of states offer 'enhanced' driver's licenses that indicate a resident's citizenship, so states that comply with Trump's directive risk disenfranchising millions. This unnecessary power grab is especially disturbing coming from a president who has made election misinformation a hallmark of his political career. His lies about the 2020 and 2016 presidential contests cast doubt on his desire to protect 'the integrity of American elections.' State lawmakers should ignore Trump's bullying and preserve their constitutional prerogative to oversee elections.
