Love Island bombshell Yaz's true motives for bringing up her X Factor past has been 'exposed' as her Four Of Diamonds bandmates take a catty swipe. Yaz, 26, was one of the six Casa Amour girls who entered the villa over the weekend to ruffle a few feathers. The beauty from Manchester introduced herself to the boys as a DJ when she first appeared, but soon revealed that she has already been on an ITV show - The X Factor. Yaz appeared on the thirteenth series of the singing competition back in 2016 as part of girl group Four Of Diamonds. The series was won by Matt Terry, 32, shortly followed by Saara Aalto, 29, who placed second. The band - made up of Yaz, Caroline Alvares, Lauren Rammell and Sophia Saffarian - decided to go on a break in 2020. While chatting with her love interest Giorgio Russo, 30, Yaz said: 'I spent a bit of time in London, like four years. 'Before I was a DJ I was a singer. In a girl band... Four Of Diamonds. 'We were on The X Factor... We came eighth place.' Gio was keen to know why they split up, to which Yaz explained: 'Lockdown. We just couldn't perform anything.' Although the band have been on a hiatus for the past five years, the group took to their Instagram page and shared that conversation on their account. They captioned the post: 'Toured with Rita Ora, first girlband signed to EMI since the Spice Girls, song with @burnaboygram, song with Saweetie. 'What does Yazzy say... we came eighth place on X Factor.' And some think that they have worked out why Yaz has decided to take part in the programme. One fan pointed out in the comments section of their recent post: 'At least we finally have the answer why you split lol.' But the band replied: 'Look we haven't "split" we're on hiatus!!' Another said: 'REUNION PLEASE!! The potential of this group was big then it just stopped.' 'It's time to reunion gurls.' They simply replied with an eyeball and smiley face emoji. While they replied: '*Vocal warmup*' when someone said: 'Time for a reunion me thinks.' Yaz's participation in the popular ITV2 show could be a huge hint that the band are getting back together, after not making any music for the past five years and also reactivating their Instagram account. The band released their very own album Eastside + More in 2018. They also had a number of successful singles including Name On It, Stupid Things, Blind, Walk Away, Let Me Love You, Superstar and Your Problem. Meanwhile they posted another snap with Burna Boy from their music video together. They wrote: 'Maybe Name On It will finally get the justice it deserves.' One fan said: 'I'm ready for new music girls. I need a soundtrack to my life again.' 'Come back! Pop music needs girl bands.'
