Missing Jayden Spicer's mum begged for help before being charged with his death
Felicia Gross has now been arrested and charged with manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and falsely reporting an incident after son Jayden's body was found A mother who publicly begged for help when her 10-year-old son went missing has been charged after his body was found in a shallow grave. Police say young Jayden Spicer's remains were found six days after he was reported missing from Kentucky in the USA. His mum 33-year-old Felicia Gross has now been arrested and charged with manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and falsely reporting an incident, trooper Matt Gayheart told reporters. The mum had earlier provided a handwritten statement to the media begging for help, which investigators believe was written when she already knew what had happened to the boy. It comes after boy, 5, is murdered by kidnappers because his mum couldn't pay £39 ransom. Fox 56 reported the contents of the mum's note. She wrote: 'We love Jayden and we want him safe at home please if anybody see [sic] my son Jayden Spicer please report it to the Jackson police department. Thank you we love him very much please do the right thing call the police please pray for us and my son Jayden thank you.' Police were initially told that Jayden went to bed but couldn't be found the next morning, according to WKYT. Jayden was reported missing last Wednesday, and was believed to have been wearing blue Sonic the Hedgehog pyjamas when he vanished overnight. The disappearance sparked days of searching in the area around the boy's home until investigators received a tip off that led them to Jayden's body, police said. Jayden's remains were found in a "heavily wooded area" of rural Breathitt County, Kentucky, on Tuesday afternoon following a tip off on Monday night. Jayden's body was found at around 3pm local time, buried in a remote area around 19 miles from his home. The boy's remains were sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for post mortem exam. Mr Gayheart said no additional information is being released at this time as police continue to investigate. "While this is not the outcome that we had hoped for, we certainly are grateful that we were able to bring him out of the woods today," said Miranda King, commonwealth's attorney in a media briefing. Mr Gayheart added: "This incident has now transitioned from a missing persons investigation to an active and ongoing criminal investigation. "With that, we must advise that specific details regarding this investigation cannot be released at this time. It is our top priority to protect the integrity of this investigation to seek justice for Jayden." Gross, who previously served one year in jail for endangering the welfare of a minor, is being held at the Kentucky River Regional Jail, according to Lex 18.

Cynthiana mother fights for justice after son's life-threatening diagnosis tied to Similac formula
CYNTHIANA, Ky. (FOX 56) — It's a life Keela Milner never expected for her son. 'In the middle of the night one night, he was ten days old when this happened; he was crying a lot,' said Milner. 'And then when I changed his diaper, there was blood.' Her son Ozney was diagnosed with NEC, which is a gastrointestinal condition where the lining of the intestine becomes inflamed and dies. Lexington on edge following third deadly shooting, urges community action 'When we went to the hospital, they did x-rays and stuff and showed that he did have NEC,' Milner said. 'And that's when they told me babies don't live from this; we were put in the ICU.' Baby Ozney's life started in the hospital, and he's rarely seen the outside since. 'Our whole life has just been turned upside down,' added Milner. 'Like my daughter never stayed away from me, and now that I'm in the hospital with him, she's been staying with my mom.' She told Fox 56 that her doctors believe the NEC was caused by Similac formula, which wouldn't be the first time the product has been under fire. Lawsuits against the formula allege the manufacturer failed to warn about the risk of NEC. It also claims Similac increased the likelihood of NEC in premature babies. With Ozney being full term, Milner said she is struggling to seek justice. 'No lawyer can pick him up because he wasn't a preemie,' Milner explained. 'So from what I gather from all the doctors, preemies are normally who get this because they can't fight off the NEC from the formula. But Ozney was a full-term baby that can't fight it off.' She said it's been one battle after another, which is when a lifelong friend decided to lend a helping hand. 'You need support; you need to have a backbone,' said Milner's friend Bethany Cox. 'I've tried to be that for Keela, and I hope I have. And for Keela to have someone always willing, like when she goes into the hospital, I make sure that I reach out to the community for help.' Cox started a GoFundMe for Ozney, hoping to relieve some of the financial burden off of Milner and her family. But she said the biggest way she's trying to help is by seeking answers. 'If there's a lawyer that can take his case to find these answers, help change the law to get this to where there's not only help for Ozney but maybe there's another mother out there struggling,' Cox added. But now, at 11 months old. Ozney is home for now. 'He's a tough little guy,' Milner said. 'All he knows is to fight, and that's what he does.' Apple fixes bug causing diction feature to replace word 'racist' with 'Trump': Reports
Apple is blaming a technical bug for the voice-to-text diction feature on its iPhones that is replacing the word "racist" with "Trump," according to multiple reports. Some iPhone users noticed the bug on Tuesday when they spoke the word "racist," which prompted the system to type "Trump," before quickly correcting itself to "racist," NBC News and Fox 56 reported. In a statement obtained by NBC News on Tuesday, an Apple spokesperson said, 'We are aware of an issue with the speech recognition model that powers Dictation and we are rolling out a fix today." On Wednesday, Apple confirmed to Fox 56 that the bug had been fixed. The company did not tell the TV station why its system may have interpreted President Donald Trump's name when users were saying "racist." The tech corporation told NBC News that the speech recognition models powering the diction feature may initially display words with some phonetic overlap until further examination helps it land on the actual word the user intended to say. Other words that include an "r" consonant have also suggested "Trump" due to the bug, Apple added, per the outlet. USA TODAY contacted Apple and the White House about the glitch on Wednesday but did not receive an immediate response. While Trump and the White House have been mum about the reported glitch, far-right commentators, including Infowars host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, have not. In an X post on Tuesday, Jones said he "caught apple carrying out a vicious, subliminal attack on president Trump." "When you voice note the word racist on APPLE text the word Trump pops up and then disappears," Jones' post says. "Try it yourself folks, this attack is NEXT LEVEL EVIL. We are surrounded by deep state deception, only the truth will bring us victory." The glitch also went viral due to a TikTok posted on Feb. 18 by user Jess White. In the comment section of the TikTok video, another user said, "Mine did it every time, Apple is so messy." This bug comes after Apple announced a $500 billion investment in its U.S. facilities, projects and infrastructure on Monday. Trump claimed this a sign of success for his tariff policies that he said earlier this month would involve a 10% tariff on all imports from China, where Apple makes several of its products. In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump said the investment exhibits "FAITH IN WHAT WE ARE DOING, WITHOUT WHICH, THEY WOULD'NT (sic) BE INVESTING TEN CENTS. THANK YOU TIM COOK AND APPLE!!!.'
