The driver immediately declared he had a weapon and started shouting at the cop, ordering him to get back to his cop car. He said: "I have a gun and I'm armed. I don't have a license. "Go back, sit in the f***king car, and leave." He then began yelling aggressively screaming: 'I should have served with f***king Taliban. They're better than you.' The officer was forced to call for backup after Wali refused to show his ID. However, the moment back up cops arrived at the scene and approached Wali's car to get him out, he pulled out his hand gun, cocked it and fired several shots at one of the officers. The officer on the passenger side door immediately opened fire, hitting Wali with four bullets, Fox 5 DC reported. Footage retrieved from Wali's GoPro showed how he tried to reload and shoot the cop. He even bizarly said "Today's the day, buddy," before shooting at the cops. Though Wali was given life-saving measures after the shootout, a local hospital declared him dead later that day. The shootout also left two officers wounded in the upper arms and elbows, according to the media outlet. Before firing at the cops, Wali expressed his rage towards America, which he said 'brought him here'. He also claimed to have served in the special forces and further that his brother died as a result of his service in the video. Wali ranted: "You f***ing people brought me to this goddamn country and I'm dying every single goddamned day. 'I can't get a job. I can't get a disability. And they took my f***king license because I can't pay the insurance. So why are you trying to kill me?' Wali also claimed he had four children and that he arrived in the United States in 2014, the New York Post reports. Both wounded officers were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital. Police Chief Kevin Davis applauded Officer LaChapelle for saving his fellow colleagues. He said: "We also realize, in this particular scenario, that we are very fortunate we didn't have two police funerals. "His actions, his deployment of that deadly force saved the lives of the two officers who were on the driver's side of the car. There's no doubt about that." 6 Before firing at the cops, Wali expressed his rage towards America Credit: FOX 5 6 The officer was forced to call for backup after Wali refused to show his ID Credit: FOX 5

Driver exclaims ‘I should have served with f–king Taliban' moments before fatal traffic-stop shootout with police: bodycam footage

A fatal shootout during a routine traffic stop was captured on heart-stopping video — including the armed driver declaring 'I should have served with the f–king Taliban' as he opened fire on officers and was then shot to death. Jamal Wali, 36, was pulled over by Fairfax, Virginia, police officers for speeding back on April 23 — with the driver immediately declaring he had a weapon and yelling at the cop to get back in his car, video released by the Fairfax Police Department showed. 'I have a gun and I'm armed,' Wali said as the officer walked towards the driver's side window of the 1999 Toyota Corolla. 5 Fairfax County Police body camera captured Jamal Wali at a traffic stop moments before he opened fire on April 23, 2025. FOX 5 'I don't have a license. Go back, sit in the f–king car, and leave,' Wali demanded of the officer, adding with hostility, 'So what do you wanna do?' The 36-year-old aggressively shouted at the officer that he had no vehicle registration, refused to identify himself by name, and had attempted to reach for his weapon — causing the officer to call for backup. 'I should have served with f–king Taliban,' Wali screamed, adding, 'They're better than you.' As the two waited for more officers to arrive, Wali expressed rage at the United States, which he said 'brought him here' — claiming to have 'served in the special forces' and further that his brother died as a result of his service, video showed. Back-up arrived with one officer first coming to the passenger side door behind Wali and another officer approaching the driver's side door — immediately grabbing a hold of the driver's wrist. 5 Wali pulls out a handgun and fires shots at two of the officers during the daytime traffic stop. FOX 5 5 A police officer returned fire at Wali into the open passenger side window. FOX 5 When Wali was grabbed, he pulled away from the reaching officer, pulled out and cocked his pistol, and fired-off several shots in the matter of seconds — hitting the officers in the upper arms and elbows, according to Fox 5 DC. The officer on the passenger side door immediately opened fire, hitting Wali with four bullets, the outlet reported. He was given life saving measures by police and was declared dead at a local hospital later that day, Fox 5 DC reported. The two wounded officers were treated for non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital, according to that report. 5 Police officers attempted to grab the gun from Wali's hands before he could fire off a shot. FOX 5 5 Police investigate the scene of the fatal officer-involved shooting in Fairfax County, Virginia. FOX 5 Wali also claimed he had four children and that he arrived in the United States in 2014. Parents blast school board as boys investigated for complaining about trans student in locker room

Print Close By Michael Dorgan Published May 22, 2025 Furious parents vented their anger at a Virginia county school board meeting on Tuesday following news that three male students are under investigation after they were recorded in a male locker room complaining about a biological female getting changed alongside them. The Loudoun County Public Schools -- which made national headlines in 2021 when a father was arrested and hauled out of a board meeting for speaking out about the sexual assault of his daughter by a trans student at a local school -- is investigating the boys for Title IX violations. The trans boy, a biological female, recorded them questioning why "a girl" was present, with one student expressing that he felt "uncomfortable" about the situation. TENSIONS FLARE AT SCHOOL BOARD MEETING AFTER TRANS ATHLETE WINS MULTIPLE TRACK EVENTS It is illegal to record inside locker rooms, but a Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) official confirmed to Fox 5 DC that none of the boys appeared in compromising positions in the video and, therefore, it was determined that no privacy laws were violated. Nevertheless, the boys are under investigation for allegedly violating policy 8040, a controversial guideline adopted in 2021 that permits students to use restrooms and locker rooms that align with their gender identity rather than their biological sex. Scott Smith, the father arrested during that heated incident in 2021, took to the mic and blasted the board, accusing them of initially denying that his daughter had been raped and warning them that their policies could lead to similar consequences for other students. "And now four years later you're doing the same damn thing," Smith said. "You're victimizing innocent children over the priority of kids that don't know," he said before his mic appeared to be muted after his one-minute speaking slot had expired and he was told to hand step aside. CALIFORNIA TRACK MEET TURNS TO POLITICAL RALLY OVER TRANS ATHLETES AS SCHOOLS SPEAK OUT VS. STATE "I'm not done yet," Smith roared. "You guys are sick and pathetic," he said to applause. Smith's words, and the words of some 130 parents who spoke, were not recorded on video, as the board voted last year to omit a video display during the public comment section of its board meetings. WATCH: Dad of girl assaulted by trans student slams school board amid new controversy The decision was blasted by Smith at the time, who told "America's Newsroom" that the board was trying to shut down public dissent to their radical policies. Smith's daughter was sexually assaulted at Stone Bridge High School by a transgender student in 2021. Smith was convicted of disorderly conduct stemming from the 2021 school board meeting, but he was later pardoned by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin. Suzanne Satterfield also took aim at the board on Tuesday, saying that children rely on adults to be truthful and protect them from harm. "Every girl and boy has the right to feel secure using private spaces without being invaded by the opposite sex," Satterfield said. "Every day that policy 8040 remains in play children are being lied to so that that they can be born in the wrong body can change their sex." Speaker Amy Paul ripped the board and said that policy 8040 is "insane." "You all have helped facilitate this charade for long enough and it's time to put an end to the madness," Paul said. "You're investigating three young men for having common sense enough to state the obvious, girls do not belong in boys locker rooms." WATCH: Pardoned father says he was used to 'silence' parents from protecting children: Scott Smith "Please don't tell me that he or she is really a he, we're done playing that game, there is no such thing as a child born in the wrong body… You're taking kids who have serious issues and instead of trying to understand why they're rejecting their true selves, you encourage them to go down a path that could lead to irreparable harm to their bodies. It's time for you to act like the adults." Not everyone disagreed with policy 8040, with one female speaker saying that the policy was created with input from experts, data and community feedback to ensure that all students are safe, seen and supported. She said the uproar has conveniently come about because of the gubernatorial election later this year. "Transgender people exist. They always have no executive order, sermon or headline or public comment can erase them," she said. We have seen this playbook before, fear mongering, misinformation and political theater all at the expense of vulnerable children. It's happening again, just as it did four years ago. Meanwhile, Youngkin has requested the state's attorney general launch an independent investigation into how LCPS has managed the situation, according to Fox 5. The controversy in Loudoun County came the day after parents and residents clashed at a school board meeting in the Chicago area on Monday after a trans junior high school student won multiple events at a local track meet. Capital Jewish Museum shooting: Witness describes what suspect did after attack, ‘He grabbed a red keffiyeh…'

A man who was at the Jewish event in Washington, D.C., when two Israeli Embassy staff members were shot dead on Wednesday night, May 21, has described the events that transpired after the attack. The suspect has been identified as Elias Rodriguez of Chicago. Yoni Kalin, who was at the event, told Fox 5 DC that he heard gunshots and then saw 'somebody run in.' 'The security guard happened to let this guy in,' Yoni said. 'I guess they were thinking that he was a victim, and he was covered in rain. He was clearly in trauma. He was in shock. Some of the people at the event brought him water. They sat him down. 'Are you okay? Were you shot? What happened?' And he's like, 'Somebody call the cops, bring the cops in.' So about 10 minutes later, when the cops actually came in, he said, 'I did this.' He said, 'Sir, I'm unarmed.'' Yoni added, 'He put his, put his hands up, he grabbed a red keffiyeh out of his pocket and started the 'Free Palestine' chant.' He added that the suspect continued to yell 'Free Palestine' while being dragged out of the building. 'I tried to hand his keffiyeh back because I didn't really realize that he murdered two people,' Yoni said. The event where the shooting took place was largely focused on how to build a coalition to help Gazans, BBC reported. JoJo Kalin, a board member of the American Jewish Committee who organized the event, said, 'I'm not going to lose my humanity over this or be deterred. And that Israelis and Palestinians both still deserve self determination and [it is] just deeply ironic that that's what we were discussing. It was bridge building and then we were all hit over the hide with such hatred.'

Virginia town backs away from dissolving police department after citizen uproar

Amid backlash from residents, leaders in a Virginia town voted Tuesday to keep Purcellville's police force a week after they tried to eliminate it to save more than $3 million, according to reports. The town of Purcellville, located in Loudoun County, Virginia, has found itself around $50 million in the red following the construction of a major wastewater treatment facility, and the council sought to tighten the town's budget by disbanding the local police department and relying on the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office for law enforcement. The initial decision to dismantle the police department led to recall petitions to remove several council members and Vice Mayor Ben Nett from office. Council members who proposed eradicating the force said they wanted to do so to reduce water bills for the town's 9,000 residents. But the council reversed course and voted to fund the police force at $3.2 million for 2026 at a jam-packed town council meeting Tuesday where outraged residents and other officials voiced their concerns about the proposal. Dem Elites Accused Of Slapping Small-town Cops With 'Witch Hunt' Fines Twice Their Pay "The four of you snuck agenda items in at the end of the meeting and took away my lawful right to comment on them," one resident said, ABC7 reports. Sheriff Mike Chapman, of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, released a statement before the meeting saying the town council and manager had not discussed plans and said a transition could not happen in two months. The vote came amid a criminal investigation into Vice Mayor Ben Nett for potential violations of Virginia conflict of interest laws, according to Fox 5 DC. Nett was absent from Tuesday night's meeting. Nett was fired from the Purcellville Police Department on April 8 and within a week he voted to disband it with no effort to recuse himself, a letter from the Loudoun County Commonwealth's attorney states, per Fox 5 DC. The council, meanwhile, has come under fire for other issues too, including appointing former Mayor Kwasi Fraser as town manager without the council interviewing the 82 candidates that applied. Purcellville council member Erin Rayner said there's been a lot of behavior that she found questionable since the new council took office earlier this year. "I am happy that it's not just me and my fellow colleagues that are seeing this behavior and are seeing what's going on and looking into it," Rayner article source: Virginia town backs away from dissolving police department after citizen uproar
