College students, agitators and a Hamptons brat among 86 arrested at rowdy NYC anti-ICE protest

They shouldn't have trouble making bail. Cops cuffed 86 demonstrators at a rowdy anti-ICE rally in Lower Manhattan Tuesday, among them the daughter of a Moroccan actor, a self-proclaimed poet from an upscale college and a coed whose family owns a posh home in the Hamptons, The Post has learned. 'My sense is, the vast majority of the 2,500 people that were there, were there to protest peacefully,' NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said on Fox 5 News. 'There was a smaller group of a few hundred where we did have to make arrests. Some of them were looking for trouble.' The protest in Foley Square against deportation arrests by federal immigration agents began peacefully but grew increasingly violent shortly after 5 p.m., with the mob hurling bottles at cops and throwing traffic cones into traffic, an NYPD spokesperson said. Of the 86 who were charged, 52 were issued summonses for disorderly conduct and other minor charges, while 34 were arrested and charged with more serious crimes, including felony assault. Among those busted was Vega Gullette, a 19-year-old student at Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers who describes herself as 'a Moroccan-American writer, artist, and lover of junk.' The teen, who was charged with attempted assault in the second-degree and obstructing government administration, is the daughter of Sean Gullette, an actor, screenwriter and director whose credits include the Darren Aronofsky films 'Requiem for a Dream' and 'Pi.' Gullette had a group of friends show up to her court hearing on Wednesday in a show of support, some of whom draped themselves in keffiyehs, which are associated with pro-Palestine political movements. Also among those charged was Rachel Schreiber, 22, of Brooklyn, who is facing resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and attempted assault charges in the melee. She smiled when she saw the large group of friends, some of whom wore masks, who showed up for her hearing in Manhattan criminal court. 'So many,' she said to herself while she walked out of the courtroom. Records show her parents own a $3 million home in Westhampton Beach. 'I'm not giving any reaction,' her mother told The Post Wednesday. 'I'm not ready to talk about this with the press.' Some of the pinched protesters are no strangers to Big Apple demonstrations. Robert Mills, 40, who was charged with reckless endangerment and issued a disorderly conduct citation in Tuesday's scuffle, was charged with obstructing governmental administration in April during an anti-Israeli protest in Brooklyn, the Jewish News Syndicate reported. Tabitha Howell, 40 — who was cited for disorderly conduct — was among those injured when a crazed Queens woman drove into a Manhattan Black Lives matter protest in 2020. 'It's one thing to face physical recovery,' Howell, who said she suffered five bulging discs in her back and a traumatic brain injury in the incident, told The Post at the time. 'It's another to try to process what happened mentally and emotionally.' Meanwhile, Tisch and Mayor Eric Adams gave assurances this week that the city will not devolve in to chaos like Los Angeles, where ICE agents sparked outbreaks of violence that required the National Guard to step in to try to restore peace. 'Watching what was going on in California, I spent the weekend on the phone with our federal partners in New York City — the head of the FBI in New York, federal protective services, homeland security investigations,' Tisch told MSNBC's 'Morning Joe. Elias Rodriguez: Pro-Palestine Gunman Casually Walked into Capital Jewish Museum after Killing Two Israeli Diplomats and Surrendered to Cops Saying, 'I Did This'

A pro-Palestinian shooter casually entered the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., moments after allegedly shooting dead two Israeli embassy staffers. The suspect, Elias Rodriguez, 30, allegedly started shooting at a group of four people gathered outside the museum on Wednesday evening, during a Young Diplomats event being held there. The two people killed were an Israeli couple who were planning to get engaged next week. Rodriguez has since been arrested and is being questioned. Authorities also confirmed that the suspect had no previous contact with law enforcement. Washington Police Chief Pamela Smith said that the suspect was seen walking back and forth outside the museum before he was arrested. Guards Mistook Suspect for Victim After the shooting, Rodriguez was allowed into the Capital Jewish Museum by security guards who mistakenly believed he was one of the victims, witness Yoni Kalin, told Fox 5 News. "You know I did see somebody run in," he recounted. "The security guard happened to let this guy in, I guess they were thinking he was a victim." Kalin recounted that the suspect appeared "covered in rain and he was clearly in trauma, he was in shock." Another witness, Sara Marinuzzi, said that the man was "acting erratically," leading people to assume he had witnessed the shooting. Seeing how upset Rodriguez appeared, Kalin said attendees offered him water and checked if he was alright—only to be shocked later when they learned his true identity. Kalin said that the suspect took a seat inside the museum and requested that someone call the police. However, when officers arrived roughly 10 minutes later, Rodriguez reportedly admitted to them, saying, "I did this." "He said, 'Sir I'm unarmed,' put his arms up and grabbed a red keffiyeh out of his pocket and started the 'Free Palestine' chants,' saying "There's only one solution - intifada revolution," Kalin claimed. At that moment, Rodriguez was pulled out of the building while he continued his chants. Kalin said he still hadn't fully grasped the situation and even tried to return Rodriguez's keffiyeh to him. "I didn't realize that he had murdered two people," he said. It was only about five to ten minutes later, after receiving more details, that Kalin and the others realized the gunman had been inside the building "with us for like 15 minutes." "My friend was actually watching the surveillance footage and he murdered somebody, executed them from the back - five to 10 shots,' Kalin claimed, calling the shooting 'disgusting." Motive Still Unclear Investigators have not yet revealed a motive behind the shooting but said the case remains under active investigation. This came as a LinkedIn profile and a photo allegedly linked to Rodriguez have appeared on social media. Although unconfirmed, the profile lists his location as Chicago, Illinois, and mentions a connection to the American Osteopathic Association, Inc. (AOIA). However, there has been no official confirmation on this. Meanwhile, a video has gone viral that appears to show Rodriguez being taken into police custody, while he chants "Free Palestine." Danny Danon, Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, confirmed that the two victims attacked on Wednesday night—a man and a woman—were employees of the Israeli embassy. "Harming diplomats and the Jewish community is crossing a red line," Danon wrote on X. "We are confident that the US authorities will take strong action against those responsible for this criminal act. Israel will continue to act resolutely to protect its citizens and representatives — everywhere in the world." Gunfire erupted outside the museum at 575 3rd Street NW, close to the FBI field office and the U.S. attorney's office, according to the report. Ted Deutch, CEO of the American Jewish Committee, confirmed that his organization was holding a Young Diplomats gathering at the museum at that time. "We are devastated that an unspeakable act of violence took place outside the venue," he said. "At this moment, as we await more information from the police about exactly what transpired, our attention and our hearts are solely with those who were harmed and their families." Tal Naim Cohen, a spokesperson for the Israeli Embassy, said that the two were shot "at close range" while attending the event. Initial reports indicated that one of the victims died at the scene, while the other was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Later updates confirmed that both victims had died.

Why This Georgia High Schooler is Facing Charges For...Recording a Diss Track??

A Georgia teenager's rap bars have landed him behind bars after a football scuffle had even bigger consequences. Cortez Lyles, 18, is an athlete at Heritage High School in Conyers, Ga. who is facing serious charges in connection to a diss track against another football player. The beef between Lyles and the other student, Benjamin Jett, began back in November when the two players got into a fight during on the field, according to WSB-TV. After the teens got into it, Jett was charged with battery. 'The other guy got a couple of licks in, and my son came home with, and my son came home with a knot on top of his forehead,' Lyles' father, Nachez Lyles, told Fox 5 News. Despite the tension between the athletes dying down over the months, things took an interesting turn when Lyles decided he still had more to say. This led to the 18-year-old recording and releasing a diss track aimed at Jett, according to Fox 5. 'Listen, it's not worth it,' Nachez reportedly told his son about starting another physical fight with the student. 'You're going to get yourself in trouble, and you don't want to go the fighting route. We'll deal with this.' So, Lyles took his frustrations to the recording booth. But while Hip-Hop lovers know diss tracks are a common way for two parties to beef, Lyles' song stirred up more trouble than he could've imagined. The lyrics of the song read: Imma beat his a** Drop a diss and then I'll take his b***h Get a body bag or save his a** 'cause I ain't sparing s**t I'm a scorpion After Lyles dropped the song on Instagram, word eventually got around to the teammate's mother, who took matters into her own hands. On Feb. 27, 2025, the high school was notified that a parent wanted to make a report about the song, WSB-TV reported. This led to Lyles being arrested on the school's campus and later charged with terroristic threats/acts, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office. Lyles' parents say the song's lyrics were taken out of context and should have never been taken seriously. 'What do y'all want him to do? Come back to school and fight?' Lyles's mother, Shandela McKnight asked. 'We don't teach our kids that.' The 18-year-old's father agreed noting that 'the same thing with the [rappers] Kendrick Lamar and Drake situation.' He continued saying, 'The complete consensus was, 'Oh, Kendrick bodied Drake' so, for that to be mentioned in a song and translated into something literal is egregious.' Now, Lyles' parents say they want to sit down with Jett's parents to get the charges dropped, according to the Independent. Lyles is a senior at Heritage High School and hopes to join the U.S. Air Force after graduation. For the latest news, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Ravens fan wins seats for 20 years. See her smile over late dad's ‘last gift' to her

A big Baltimore Ravens fan won seats to see her favorite team play for the next two decades, Maryland lottery officials said. Winner and 'ultimate' Ravens fan Shannan Brown believes it was her late father's 'last gift' to her and her family, officials said in a Feb. 19 news release. 'We lost my dad last year. He was a Vietnam vet and the life of every Ravens game we watched,' Brown told officials. 'Although his health wouldn't allow him to go to a game, we stayed right by his side and cheered the Ravens on together.' And they took the games 'very seriously,' she said. 'I mean, birthdays were placed on hold for goodness sake,' she said. 'I believe deep in my heart my dad is watching over us and wanted this to be the very last gift he could present to me and my family in his absence.' Her win came with another surprise — former Ravens running back Terrance West announced she was the winner. Photos show Brown crying 'with excitement' at the big news. Now she'll have to decide who will join her for each game between her husband and two kids, officials said. 'We are going to have to alternate,' she said. 'We have 20 years to figure it out.' Brown was one of six finalists in the lottery's 'Seats For 20 Years' prize, officials said. All six of them and their guests were invited to the M&T Bank Stadium for a tour — plus a $10,000 prize. Brown's 'prize includes a pair of club-level seats and a parking pass for every Baltimore Ravens preseason and regular season game for the next two decades,' officials said. 'We're the ultimate Ravens fans,' she told Fox 5 News. 'Our house turns into a frat house for the Ravens. People decorate every year for Christmas, but we are like that when it comes to the Ravens.'
